I really have a love/hate relationship with this episode. Every time I see Lou on D20 I simply must listen to this absolutely perfect episode
dryptid
so delighted to think of someone RPing making strong bad emails in a 2000s flavored campaign
Rhayne (like rain) Hall
Naming your character your partner's grandpa's full name is actually so funny
JMuskratArts
It’s been two years and I’m still not over how badly Caldwell mangled the explanation of that Futurama episode.

"Pulling your own teeth to become Darth Vader's apprentice" nearly killed me at work XD

this don't work

I love these but it's weird that none of the judges are familiar with the PHB. like the idea that paying a monthly fee is part of a character background is in the Guild Artisan's thing but they act all shocked about the concept
Nik
Caldwell..... NO! Bender loved being a human, there was no sad arc. He went full send, ate everything, smoke and drank, deplorable things with hookers and became an obese mass of flesh that kept grilled cheese sandwiches in his folds and died of a heart attack mid-party without anyone realizing for hours. Even though you're probably just intentionally flavoring it for that warforged. I can't let you get away with that awful description of thinking Bender would actually care. Good Day sir

Blessings for the crew being in their 30s and sending me down this nostalgic trip through ebaums and newgrounds
Debra Wasson
I need the piss chronious Binki fiasco one shot
SebbitySwooty (Seb K)
For the second one - I bet he was copying a character from Malazan Book of the Fallen, quick Ben, who is pretty cool and has absorbed the souls of like 5 other wizards....but yeah that doesn't work if you cant do it and is a straight rip off
Doug C.
never fear, I got you: https://www.removeddit.com/r/NotAnotherDnDPodcast/comments/p9d2i0/ns_i_was_treent_from_this_weeks_dd_court_and_i/

It’s been deleted now 😭

Foamy the Squirrel the Lord and Master!
I love that y'all are sticking with the fan made intro! I'm sure I'm a bit late to the game but the idea of a fan making something for y'all and it becoming a staple of dnd court.
Mak
For the wisdom one - my dm did a very similar thing to this once. He pulled myself and another character and just asked if we wanted to play doppelgängers that had replaced the real characters in a dungeon. It was just too fun to pass up and we both agreed. If it was a roll, I would have rolled, but I like that we got the choice to say no.
Brynnah
FOAMY THE SQUIRREL!!!!
Leah Stigale
Honestly, my dnd beyond has almost 200 characters. I could totally make a level 15 wizard in a 10 minute break.

Trent’s PC posted his side of the story in the NADDPOD subreddit!! https://reddit.com/r/NotAnotherDnDPodcast/comments/p9d2i0/ns_i_was_treent_from_this_weeks_dd_court_and_i/

I have a player an experienced player do the multiple beings in one body and do it well, it was really helpful i wanted to play he was tired of dming so his character and his multiple reincarnations helped build and shape my homebrew world and because he is so tied to the lore but also vague enough to be flexible, he rolls a d8 every new day in campaign and so far it has worked very well but definitely needs a lot of preparation, and because of what hes done my entire party wants to dm and with the whole reincarnation thing weve actually tied all of our homebrews into one connected timeline makes for very fun play
Luke Shealy
The VR one could have been easily solved by doing this. The player could have just waited for the VR player to get off then killed him in his sleep. Easy.
The ebaums world/newgrounds era of the internet was such a wild time to be alive. Lines from all of the weird flash shorts are still just firmly embedded in my brain
Liam Harvey
I was listening to this at work and I was laughing like a madman
Casey Miles
As someone that has watched all of Sword Art Online I have to implore Caldwell to push through the second season because seasons 3 and 4 are absolutely insane!! Waiting on season 5 is so annoying!! Absolutely turns into a great anime, please give it a go if you have time
Obed Pacheco
"It's not family yet" made me laugh so hard!!!
Trent has serious Cody Walsh vibes lol
Nye-Low
I have to pause at the first question. This is goddamn bizarre.
nonya bizness
Lou AND Zac? The only thing that could make this better would be news that Nathan is coming back to guest star on Eldermourne soon 👀
Anna Q
Emily said when she writes a book she’ll be glad to have social media but didn’t she and murph write a book??
Garga Lenoir
Murph thinking that loot would make for bad radio is very interesting to me. Obviously nobody wants to hear the loot table being rolled or the players haggling over rope but if I had to guess most players would be relieved to hear Emily say "we restock our potions", and would enjoy hearing that they looted the cool magic flail the gnoll was using.
Amadeus Escudero
God I was straight losing it at that Home Depot Toilet bit (47min mark). Just in tears laughing while walking my dog. I must have looked like a god damn lunatic.
Jess Wagoner
I'm a bit nauseous from being pregnant and I had to break out the peppermint tea because I was seriously wondering if I was going to get sick from laughing so hard. I love dnd court so much and I love that Zac and Lou were guests on this one.
Jack
Mixed bag where you talk about the favorite moments home campaigns you've played in?
piecemeal
The idea of Dom as an Oath of the Family Paladin with enough barbarian to rage makes so much sense.
Michael Singer
caldwell finally ate that SD card huh
evans-endeavors
I cackled when I read this 😂 incredible I love it so much
Sam Killjoy
Does anyone want to run an “oops, all grandparents “ one shot?
evans-endeavors
Emily losing it in the first 2 minutes of the podcast 😂 her laugh is so infectious. God I love this. The first case is phenomenal haha
piecemeal
Once Emily actually read the question, I understood that her difficulty was 100% justified.
Randy from Montucky
This is the wildest the court has ever been and I love it.
Jordon Brown
This is the best DnD Court episode ever. Absolutely wild.
Arwyn Robinson
I have laughed harder at this episode than so many episodes just because Emily couldn't get the first case out because she kept losing her shit. Fucking comedy gold.
Doug C.
Naming a PC after someone that’s IN THE ROOM is so chaotic
Felix
I could listen to days of dungeon court! Love you guys! You should come to Germany one day :D... I am sure that there are also horrible margarita bars somewhere here...
Really weird the guy was so hard stuck on it being SAO related but for extra clarification in the anime everyone is stuck in the game and if they take off their headset they die and if they die in the game they die in real life. Also Caldwell was right season 2 and 3 are bad but season 4 is worth a watch.
Becca_rebaker
I was laughing so hard at the beginning! Emily was cracking me up. 🥰
Conner Christensen
Dungeon court is such an amazing part of dnd, day made hands down with this one!

In a similar situation to the first case, I was once playing a game of Betrayal At the House on the Hill with my wife and some friends. We had more players than the game has characters, so my wife decided to create a new one. She named the character after our friend's husband who we aren't super close to. He started to get kinda upset about it. She even made all these arguments on why the character should have really high stats because the guy was a really fit doctor. He just didn't seem chill with it and started whispering to his wife and they left before we even got to play.
A couple years back I played a game where one of the PCs was an old man from the Bronx who went to take a sh*t and when he opened the door to the bathroom, he walked into the world we were playing in. It was a lot of fun riffing off of him & listening to the VR headset story made me feel so blessed that I got to experience the good version of an isekai party member instead of a VR SAO nightmare.
Chris P. Bacon
I had a player also play a changeling with multiple discrete personalities, but they were just a warlock; only certain invocations were available to each personality, so they had to be built as a generalist. the player was a forever-DM and was an extremely competent player. Everyone had a lot of fun goofing on the rp of their characters (not players) hated some personalities and loved others. It ended up being really important to the plot and everything slotted into place. Sadly the campaign is on indefinite hiatus because of people moving and scheduling, the true final boss of ttrpgs.
Kelly Varanay
Dear person from the first story: how does it feel to be dating the funniest person alive?
Michael Millar
Why would you cut the song short!!?? ;,(
Can't believe y'all took my case! I will actually take my player to TGI Fridays and report back haha, perfect boon
Tren LF. (TheLagFairy)
It's weird hearing my name repeatedly as a PC name and for such a bad player XD. Loved the episode though (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Maia Costea
Thanks for reminding me of Foamy, the videos from Newgrounds <3 And the super hyped one was Pilz-E!
Courtney F.
You guys are always funny but the home depot toilet salesman has me rolling 🤣🤣🤣 I'm imagining Caldwell as the home depot guy because he said it. "So what are you gonna do with this toilet?" 🤣😭
Noah Jay
For Lou: The flash animation squirrel's name was Foamy. And I only ever made a single flash animation...which wasn't really much of an animation as much as a doodle video. You can see this horror show here: https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/328644
ShezInJapan
For the DM with the player with the 6 souled changeling, check out Beet the Vandel Buster, an anime in which a young fan of a team of local heroes inherits the team's soul weapons after they all die in combat, and he has to learn how to use them, and his first time using them he tries to use them all and fucks up horribly, then we time skip to him training individually with each weapon and slowly (Naruto style) earning the powers thrust upon him. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beet_the_Vandel_Buster

I started cry laughing in the middle of work in the first 5 minutes.. So damn funny. I can't.. I'm still laughing about it 15 minutes later.
Priyanka Patel
"The soup can thing up there" .... Is Murph referring to a dice holder.... I want to see this hoard of dice!
LJ_Rivvy
this intro is amazing oh my god.
Priyanka Patel
Emily falling apart over the first case killed me! 😂😂😂 With the 6 characters in one, I think Caldwell and Co have a great idea, make the player choose a character to hold onto and their story could be a "giving peace to" 5 of the other characters. It would be SO hard to manage all those characters!
Sarah Peckman
I should be saving these episodes for my 6 hour drive to college but I need to hear what the honorable judges have to say
Zac AND Lou?! Jeez
TheTimePig
You guys get bad luck with your SD cards and yet you give us this blessing! Y'all are the best
Sydney_Brooke
No matter how much dnd talk happens beforehand "Should I allow my girlfriend to roleplay as my grandfather" is the worst sentence I've ever heard
Nick Neverman
Such wild energy to start the episode, I absolutely love it
Yes!!! Just what I needed to get through work today 💜💜💜
Bodhi Milledge
The greatest crossover of all time?
Derek Ramler
Zac AND Lou?! Thank you for the treat Daddy Murphy
GREYFOX!!!!!
They got Zack this time too fuck yeah
Tom Dieter
I still can't get over how good the intro is.
