In the short rest - Murph mentions that he was rolling her concentration checks when she got hit but her saving throw is +14 so it's really hard to break her concentration

as someone that regularly plays i often forget about concentration 90% of the time. in my opinion it's a flawed and sometimes confusing mechanic that the dm often forgets about and the players are either also forgetting or just don't want to bring it up. as for naddpod they get a solid grasp on 5e rules by now. once you catch up to c3 you won't notice as many fuck ups (although they still do occasionally)

I know this episode's 3 years old but as I'm listening through but I hope someday they pay attention to concentration. It's killing me that someone can take 35+ damage and still have a concentration spell up with no save to maintain.

RAW you're completely right, but a lot of DMs (myself included) decide to house rule that if there's more adv/dis then the condition still applies to the check. I think it feels more intuitive and rewards players for thinking tactically (and punishes them when they don't)

Just started the episode. Just letting you know, if you have advantage and disadvantage then it always just becomes a normal roll. Even if you have advantage 100 times and disadvantage once it is still a normal roll. It might seem fucked up, but if you have disadvantage 100 times and advantage once then it is also a normal roll, which is the pay off.
