For some reason I can't reply to your comment, so I'll probably have to post as a new one. Instead of smooth transition from one colour to another, they consist of very visible squares (video encoder's bitrate had only enough bits to put a square in there without any graidients). Increasing the bitrate should fix that. If not, let me know! I've been encoding videos for years so we can figure out why's that happening.

I very very much want to see this in higher quality. Is it possible to have the video as a download with less compression artefacts? I don't know your workflow, but with x264 encoder you can set '-qp 18' to force constant quantizer of 18. It'll result in higher bitrate and much less compression artefacts. gfycat recompresses videos, so you might need to host those somewhere else, like dropbox.
