Either way, this video was super fun to make, because I got to sit around and watch a bunch of movies I'd never heard of before.
But for real though, this is a topic that I'm probably going to come back to at some point, just because there's SO much information thanks to the internet now.
Tons of people are talking, it's gonna be interesting to see what happens in the future.
I wonder if we'll ever see live, improvisational film scoring become a thing again.
I don't know, but I sure am hoping!

Yeah, I found a clip of that after I published the video and I was looking to see if I could find the whole film online. It sucks, like, there's really no other way to look at it. It just sucks.

An excellent video. Just wanted to add: the racism bit doesn't stop with Birth of a Nation, in fact Al Jolson performs in Blackface later in The Jazz Singer (performing "Mammy," of course).
