The absolute best part of The Dark Knight is when Bruce sets up the sonar on the whole city so he can find joker and it just looks like a bunch of computers simultaneously crashing so Nolan must’ve been like “we need to explain this to the audience” and Lucius (who invented this specific tech earlier in the movie and would have no reason to explain it) just essentially looks to camera and explains exactly what the audience is looking at.
