Just wanted to come in and say that the “labor/job shortage” is a myth that has been busted by multiple people, myself included. There is an enormous organized labor upsurge happening in the US atm, and because of this workers are starting to wake up to the poverty wages and horrific conditions we accepted as normal before Covid. The “labor shortage” is being pushed by business owners who don’t want to pay their workers a living wage or benefits, and are mad that people aren’t desperate for literally any job like they used to be. They blame “unemployment payments” as the reason no one wants to work for them, even though enhanced unemployment benefits ended literally last year lol and claims are as low as they were almost pre-Covid. There is not a labor shortage, there is a shortage of workers that are willing to put up with poverty wages, no benefits, and shit working conditions and business practices.

pre med student here wanting to go into cardiology and currently working in the emergency room. love u guys, i literally watch every episode immediately when they drop. i never comment but i feel like todays my time to shine. noel ur not dying and it honestly sounds more like GI/stomach symptoms. you’re in a very low risk age group for heart attack at this age. ur probs fine from an emergent standpoint. (unless you’ve had more episodes of this since) go to ur primary care doctor, the soonest appointment you can get into, they’ll do an ekg and blood work to determine if your heart has taken any immediate damage, they’ll also look at if there are non cardiac abnormalities in your blood work. if everything is negative, you’re probably good unless you experience the symptoms again. if your blood work or ekg show cardiac abnormalities, or if you continue to have symptoms, you’ll be referred to a cardiologist to have further heart tests (echocardiogram - basically a heart ultrasound to show blood movement and look at overall structural health of the heart, and probably a stress test). you may also be referred to a GI doctor who would likely do an endoscopy to look at your esophagus and stomach for abnormalities. u guys make my 40 minute drive to and from work every day so much more entertaining so thank you. hopefully i helped relieve at least some of your health anxiety lol

@ noel, this is super random and probably not it but i'll throw it out there just in case. two years ago I started having all these really weird symptons, and the main ones were random chest pains/twinges, my left arm randomly got tingly/numb a couples times, and brain fog. I went to the doctor twice and they said sounds like u got anxiety. I was like...it's not that . anyway I finally got bloodwork done a month later and it turns out I had Lyme disease

to answer cody's question: they start with an ekg. from there they might move on to chest x-rays to see if you have tearing in your heart/major vessels or a blood clot in your lungs/general chest. they also may do a ct scan of your abdomen and chest to ensure there's nothing else going on. for noel: based on your dual symptoms of chest pain and gas pain, i would say take a few extra-strength tums, and if it doesn't help and the pain persists, consider seeing a doctor
