it's also interesting how quite a few tik toks seem to be youtube videos clipped to the highlights while some youtube videos are compilations of the "best tik toks" and this constant adaptation of content feels telling of what the general mindsets/attention spans towards art are currently. like damn people just find a way to ruin everything, especially classic movies :( i miss the era when long-form media was valued for what it was worth.

The part about youtube vs tiktok was actually really interesting, I feel like it's a "what have you done for me recently" kind of thing. Like, I personally prefer YT (mainly cuz I have premium and enjoy that aspect of the full content being there) and plan to start streaming there just cuz I dont believe they go down without a major fight but I do understand the appeal of Tiktok. I live w someone who uses tiktok as their main and it frustrates me but I'm starting to come around to it thru the search engine aspect of it. It's all just vine 2.0 to me whether its insta, yt, tiktok, or whatever. I'm putting my money on patreon blowing up tho
