What Noel mentioned about chinese cities being like ghost towns is totally true. I’m currently studying abroad in China, and it’s crazy to see how much things here has changed since before the virus really began spreading. I was traveling for a couple of weeks in South Korea and Japan, and when I came back things were really different. You meet almost no people when going outside. Everybody are also partially quarantined in their homes (at least in Nanjing). Security check our temperature when leaving and entering out apartment building or the grocery store. It’s definitely a weird experience, but it feels good that the chinese government is taking the situation this seriously.

Hey boys, story time for ya On Tuesday afternoon, I was driving to work listening to you guys' podcast. Just after the point where Noel first turns up his mic audio the playback started fucking up. At first, I thought it was the actual audio of the podcast - like Noel's audio was clipping every time he spoke (it kept cutting in and out, less than a second each time). During this weird audio failure, I noticed my car battery light was turning off and on repeatedly. I ignored it and kept driving. After a couple more minutes I paused the podcast and the battery light stayed off. However, my airbag light, traction light and ABS light then ALL came on. I'm thinking "I need to pull over" because this could turn into something worse (spoiler: it did). Due to the fact that the drive was silent at this point (from pausing the podcast) I didn't realise my radio device was off as well. After noticing that I'm thinking "fuck, what do I do?". I go to pull over and I notice two things immediately: the power steering is gone and the speedometer & rev meter were both stuck wherever they were when all those lights came on (I was braking and they weren't moving). I get to the side of the road, organise someone to pick me up and leave my car. I make a couple of calls to see if anyone I know can go jumpstart it or something; they tried but no success. Fast forward to the next day. I'm home and today's mission is to go fix my car. My mum and I get there around midday and the first thing we notice is the back left wheel had been removed. As we get closer to the car we notice another pretty significant thing: the car had been broken into via a smashed window. The people who had broken into the car had used the jack that was IN the car to raise it, take the wheel off and take the spare tire as well. My car isn't worth a lot so considering it a right-off is in conversation, but the whole point of this story is that the last thing I listened to and probably ever will listen to in that car was you guys' podcast. Thanks for the good times.

I work in pulmonary infectious disease + critical care (primarily w influenza) as a research tech. An airborne infection is one that can be spread through the air (some pathogens don’t survive in airborne environments, which is why this distinction exists). Chicken pox, measles, TB, and anthrax are other examples of airborne infections — the fact that it’s airborne doesn’t necessarily indicate severity of the illness, more-so how quickly the illness can spread i.e., how “infectious” it is. The fact that nCov is airborne just means it spreads easily. Influenza is still far, far more deadly in terms of deaths/yr and burden of disease.

Only complaint are instead of playing just regular hip hop music, you should have blasted your own music to hype people more up, loved the new songs you played though. Thanks for a great show.
