Progress Report

I'll keep things short this week since there's not much to say. As mentioned last week, I'm now focusing almost exclusively on the music for the first version of Supermodel, trying to stay "in the zone" and maximize my efficiency. This also means that there's not much for me to talk about.
But to sum up the most notable developments since the last update, I have now more or less finished the track I was working on. However, this one does double duty since it comes in two variants that will be used in slightly different circumstances. One version is dark and moody, while the other is action-oriented and intense. This is a good thing, allowing me to get more music out of mainly the same amount of work, though it's unlikely that I will be able to repeat this stunt particularly often during the game's development. All I have left on this track is a bit of light tweaking followed by mixing and mastering, and then it's ready to go.
To my delight, this latest track features strong orchestral elements that actually turned out very well. This is a sharp contrast to Snapshot and its bright, upbeat music. Expect much more dark, cinematic stuff from Supermodel than anything you have heard so far.
Because I wanted to show off something in this progress report, the above image shows a part of the music I'm composing. This is what it looks like while I work on it. Not terribly exciting to look at, I guess, but it is what it is.
And now it's back to composing! I want to wrap this track up and move on to the next one. I'm kind of having fun with this.
