Status Update #60

Hope you've had a good week, or if not, hope that your weekend is going better.
We've had an interesting week! Surgeries and lots of driving. While sourcing parts for our animation rig, we came across an opportunity to grab ourselves a new-ish 4090 in near perfect condition. And it wasn't a tortured mining or gaming card either! Big win. Instead of sitting in some student's gaming PC, it will get to calculate and render pixels for us, and you.
Now, this didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped. Hardware wise we were prepared at least, which saved some headache. We're also going to use a similar dual-GPU build in our next rig. We still have a moment to wait and see if Daz is going to update, in which case we could potentially get some newer generation cards. But for consistency we might need to get some veteran 4090s instead, just so we won't have to worry about what could go wrong next.
There are some great gains coming up from this, which we greatly look forward to sharing. Animation rendering times, which have been quite relevant lately, are about to become a problem of the past. But we'll save that topic for when we can show it.
All that aside, we also made new animations and renders for an outside scene this week. Originally we had quite a variety branch for the animations in this scene, but the rendering times are abysmal. We're still keeping the choice branches as intended though because we always end up regretting it when we change or cut things.
We also made some of the "extra" renders which have been waiting on the backburner. For example, Bree is now in the audio screen in the beginning of the game to remind you to set your volumes, unless you prefer your own music or perhaps mommy ASMR. Or silence, that also works for many.
Bree also happens to be wearing one of our very own clothing assets in this render, a comfy sports bra which can slide easily in any direction.

Next week, we're looking to assemble a PC and finish some post-production tasks. We're also reaching a point where we can start to consider beta version testing.

i know how hard you guys work but, is there a date? cause if there isn't i could help out aswell i make animations, on a bunch of programs - blender, HS2 etc etc, or i could help translate things, ik 3 languages (not including english)

What is insane? If you're waiting for the final version or treat the game as a product right now, you should definitely wait for the Steam release or a corresponding Patreon version instead. The update frequency may seem insane to some, but that's mostly to have more content in a single update while the game is in development. ๐

Appreciate the directness. We're not fans of excuses, which is why we try to avoid them as much as possible. I think you can remember 0.6 for example, and that it was too short for many. Not enough content etc. This has been our main focus for this update. Reach certain scenes and simply have more content in the update. We got quite a ton of negative feedback from the previous one, and the fix for that is causing more right now. To us, we could put out smaller updates quite frequently (original update/chapter size was roughly 650ish renders and no animations) but every time we've had a shorter update in the past we got swamped with negative feedback. And it's not a little amount either. We don't know if longer equals better, but for a singular play session it has seemed to be more favored always. This is mostly based on our feedback surveys, where the longer and more is always preferred. Biggest downside of course is that to have an update with more content, the update frequency will stretch out. The fleemarket adventure stuff should be very relevant though. It's something like 200%/230% speed gain for rendering, which is pretty significant when it comes to some of the stuff we've struggled with since 0.4. We don't want to hype stuff up because hype and expectations can be dangerous things, but hopefully the amount of content and future speeds can speak for themselves to show this progress. :)

It's a little bit like 0.5, that update could have been broken into 3 shorter updates. 0.7 is roughly 4 or so. It really depends on the perspective and how you see update frequency. Plus everything that goes into doing all that. Hundreds of new scenes is a bit too much tho. :D

Over the course of last two years i want from โshut up and take my moneyโ to โthe quality is unmatched, definitively worth itโ to โoh well, its comming out evenually, no biggieโ to โnext update must be total fire, else the game will flopโ to finally โwhy exactly am i supporting this?โ Honestly guys, the fate i had in you is plumiting with every post since july. Every week of these vague pseudoproductive news from you makes me question my backing of you. Why canโt you just show the true status of the game. What do you have to hide? I think most of the folk here would rather hear โguys sorry, we bit too big of a chunk in this chapter. we have this many scenes ahead of us and this problems to solve. We guestimate at current pace it will be ready in first quarter of 2026โ rather that that your personal medical and fleemarket adventures

Yeah, I think I'll wait like 2 more months then I'm out... I understand that the quality really is top-notch, but waiting over ~14-15 months for an update is just absurd.

I want to be very honest and I hope it doesnt sound too harsh. all these status updates first of all have been late as hell. second you guys write long paragraphs that are pretty much empty. just say โhey had a surgery so we decided to take few days off for the procedure and recovery. we got a new GPU and installed it so our rendering times will be better for the future.โ I hope you can see our frustration with the lack of transparency that we really want to get, we all just want numbers and it doesnt necessarily mean a release date I want progress status numbers how deep are we and how much more do we have to complete this update. if we have 3 scenes to create thats the information that I would like. a single jpeg change in a sound option doesnt quite get you excited you know. 5 weeks for a release this year with this information doesnt quite seem possible if the next update doesnt include the release date of december unless one of the status updates will say โhey great news everyone! we are done release date is tomorrow at 12 PMโฆโ.

Hey guys. Is it just me or did this seem like a really long fortnight? I missed your update! I was kinda hoping that the delay was cos you were finishing a few things up with the game and I dared to wonder if we might see the words "Release date" in the title but alas, no. Still, there's lots of great news in this update to be excited about. I am concerned to hear about surgeries though, is everyone ok? I hope you guys are both healthy? That is the most important thing! Very excited to hear about the outdoor scene. Esp as, in my head, that means Newt. Am I right?? Wait, where's the option for the mommy asmr, I don't have that on my version damn it! ๐ญ๐ Great to see one of your clothing creations in a render though, that will certainly add to that menu ๐ Also, I head the word testing.
