Hi everyone, I hope you’ll forgive me for the recent radio silence. Earlier this month, I pinched a nerve in my arm and it’s made work incredible difficult, but also it’s been incredibly depressing. In my stubborn way, I didn’t want to reach out until I knew what I wanted to communicate or until I recovered (if I was fortunate enough to enjoy a quick recovery).
Recovery has not been quick 😭 But at least now I know what I want to communicate.
Very polished or detailed work is too demanding for me right now, so instead I’d like to use what time we have left this month to focus on short projects—sketches, Short Shorts, smaller stories, anything that doesn’t demand too much time or finer motor skills to complete.
I hope I won’t need much longer to get back to my regular condition, but not having a plan was driving me nuts, and this whole situation has completely tanked my momentum. So at least this is something we can do for now. I’ll start with some sketches to share this week then reach out to our Short Shorts Club for ideas for short stories, as well as suggestions from the SS* tier. We’ll put a short roadmap together and then hopefully I can get some work done without putting too much stress on my arm and my hand.
We’ll see if this works for everyone, and if it doesn’t, I’ll be forced to consider pausing payments until I can resume a more consistent schedule, which will be frankly very difficult to survive. But that’s life sometimes I suppose. 🫠
I endeavour to tell some good stories in the meantime, the best I can with what I can do right now. I hope you’ll stick around for some hot new sketches over the next few days, and I’ll be reaching out to our Short Shorts Club for suggestions and ideas very soon.
