Love the reaction as always, but don’t be digging too deep, vervain is like poison to vampires, simple as that, there’s no such thing a resetting, so that’s why it weakens them when injected, they can’t compell someone that has vervain in their system or is wearing vervain, and they can’t drink someone’s blood if they had vervain because again, it’s poison. Now for Isobel, I’m not sure how you jumped to the conclusion that she is a pierce ? But again my advice is to watch the show without necessarily trying to make sense of every single little thing because it ends up misleading you, until now no one knows why Elena looks like Katherine and it was never specified that Katherine was related to Isobel

No. Vervain doesn't "reset" vampires. It just weakens them severely, and they need blood to rejuvenate them.

Damon still holds resentment about Stefan turning him because when he mentions in this episode that Stefan got what he wanted, which is for them to spend eternity together, that he'll make it miserable and at that's because Damon wanted to spend eternity with Katherine. Earlier in the episode, Emily mentioned that Damon didn't need to be compelled to drink Katherine's blood. He did so because he thought she would only turn him, and then adding that on top of the fact that he also blames Stefan for getting Katherine "killed" so far as he knew at the time, there are a lot of layers to the situation. First, Stefan broke his promise to Damon and told his father about the possibility of good vampires, which got Katherine taken away. Then, when he didn't care to be a vampire without Katherine, Stefan pressured him to turn into one. Recall, he said by the quarry that he wouldn't feed since Katherine isn't alive anymore (what he thought at the time) so there's no point. Finally, the nail in the coffin was the jealousy part where Katherine also turned Stefan and that contributes to his resentment for Stefan pressuring him to become a vampire because again, he didn't want an eternity with Stefan, but with Katherine, and knowing Katherine also turned Stefan and Stefan pressured him into becoming a vampire without her which was the only reason he was going to, it's not the life that he wanted. It's what Stefan wanted.

So he was trying to make her feel guilty or ashamed because her adoptive parents which is the only parents she ever knew would be ashamed.

I always found it weird when Stefan reveals his stalking/research into Elena, that he got hung up on the fact she was a Gilbert and Katherine was a Pierce, because why would that matter? Surnames have nothing to do with bloodlines. Elena being adopted or not, wouldn't matter whatsoever. It's such a weird thing to bring up in that conversation

Ok so Stefan was being really dramatic when he says he’ll starve himself to death. Vervain only weakens them- it leaves their system within a few hours. The tomb vampires didn’t feed for 145 years and they didn’t die. They desiccated. The only time they’re in danger of dying from not drinking blood is when they’re in transition. Once they’re past that stage, bleeding out or starving to death isn’t a thing. I know the show kind of trickle-truths the lore but every episode they reveal more about vampire capabilities. You have to build on the past knowledge you’ve been given. Hope this helps!

Damon promised Stefan an eternity of misery. He said it in episode 1. But the first time he said it to Stefan was when he first turned. That was before he found out about the tomb. So he made that promise because of his anger towards his brother for being the reason Katherine “died” Even after he found how she wasn’t dead. He still believed the was trapped because of Stefan. Also Stefan wasn’t compelled to drink his father’s blood. The hunger was too strong. There are really only 2 ways a vampire can control another vampire 1 The vampire you are compelling has been severely weakened. That happened to Stefan multiple times already in the show. 2 The vampire you are compelling is centuries younger than you. Other than that no dice. Vamps can’t compel each other. No logic there

One thing I like to point out that Damon is a very complex character, you should be able to read between lines to get his character. The thing is Damon actually hated Stefan because he forced him to turn , the reason is the scene when they first woke up by the quarry, Damon didn’t show any sign of hatred towards Stefan after seeing that Stefan was also turned , he only wished him an eternity of misery after Stefan forced him to turn (implying you already gave me an eternity of misery by forcing this existence on me a life without love and the curse of being a vampire forever), so he is only saying that because he doesn’t want Stefan to feel guilty about it anymore. This is Damon way of sacrificing himself for his brother,he saw how Stefan was so overwhelmed by the guilt to the point it drove him to commit suicide so he’s trying to take some of Stefan’s guilt away by making himself the bad guy, that the reason he hated Stefan is him being selfish and out of petty jealousy reason and it has nothing to do with the fact that Stefan forced him to turn so Stefan wouldn’t be burdened by this guilt any more. This is hard to catch when you’re watching it for the first time but as you go on with the show, you will see how Damon usually shows his love to his brother.

Elena's speech was nice. This scene is an homage to a scene in the Buffyverse, between Buffy and Angel, except this one has a lot more substance to it whereas the Buffy/Angel one just leaned ultra hard into the teen romance/drama of it all. But same exact bones. Broody, guilt-burdened old vampire deciding he just needs to take himself out of the world, via death by sunlight, and teen girlfriend showing up to convince him otherwise

I feel like Damon's resentment is the compounded events of his brother (the one person he trusted the most), betraying his trust and telling their father after promising not to (no matter how naive of a mistake it was, it was still a betrayal), resulting in the woman he loves getting captured and he believes killed, then that same brother (making another pretty dumb mistake, going to their father once again, and inadvertently turning) again betraying their pact to die/not turn, and then forcibly making him turn/violating his consent. It was A LOT for Damon over those 1-2 days, jesus

Stefan was selfish for making damon complete his transition but at the same time I understand that he didn’t want to lose a brother, and really only family he had left! Which explains a lot as to why Stefan has so much guilt, and very closed off person. But Damon didn’t make it any better by saying basically he wanted Stefan to die human form, while him and Katherine could hv lived eternity together. Like what an asshole thing to say.🙄

Anytime a vampire goes for too long without blood (human or animal), their body will start to desiccate, and eventually they’ll end up like the tomb vampires were. Not totally dead, but withered away and paralyzed. That’s what Stefan was saying he was going to do to himself by refusing the bottle of blood that Elena and Damon were trying to give him.
