Dreams of Future Past - by Kevin J. McCarthy on Vella
🕑 Added 2021-06-29 09:46:00 +0000 UTCKindle has a new serialized fiction platform called Vella which will be premiering later this week. We've got a non-TG science fantasy adventure that will be premiering, too. The first three episodes will be free and single chapters of 1500 to 3000 words will cost 0.15 to 0.30 USD/GBP/EUR to view.
New episodes will come out approximately weekly as the whole series develops; Future Past is a massive epic comparable in scale to George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire.
Kevin is a long-time member of our local writing group, Taking Pains, and an accomplished artist, too.
The illustration is of two characters from the first volume, Loki (who knows he isn't an ancient Norse god but he might as well be) and Loki's do-it-yourself artificial intelligence, Narfi.
This is going to be lots of fun. :D
One bummer, apparently in July, Vella serialization will be available only thru the Apple/iPhone platform.

That's Loki, holding the malfunctioning head of his assistant, Narfi. It is a wild ride indeed. :)

Elfin ears, a sword, a pistol, and an AI being held aloft in a pose reminiscent of a certain fictional Prince of Denmark and the skull of the late Court jester... That out-of-context image alone suggests we're in for a wild ride with this tale...
