November Bonus Suggestion Thread: Thank God It's Awful
🕑 Added 2024-11-17 19:43:12 +0000 UTCThis month we just want you to hit us with those awful movies your thankful for. Movies so bad they're good. Movies so bad they make bad movies good. The good bad good...and the badity bad. You get it
Comments
Dale Earnest
when will November bonus episode air?
j
Dennis Hopper 1994 Witch Hunt on you tube.
Peter Graham
Tim, If everyone is taking a well deserved break for the holidays, will the November bonus be delayed until December also?
Monica Weber
My favorite for the last many years is “Showgirls”. Both the VH1 version with the cartoon bras, and the horrifying theatrical version. The women seem to be written by aliens who never met a woman. Mostly, these women talk about their manicures. In the pool sex scene I thought Nomi was having a seizure. So I assume the alien screenwriters procreate in a completely different way.
Rachel J Larris
Goddamn it, it really is! There’s Elon musk as prophet jokes! This is now my choice. DirtWorld for Apocalypse month then
Scoop Bucky
And the bad version Escape from LA could be interesting, but I think New York would make for a better episode
Robert Muse
With backgrounds by Thomas Kincade
Ryan Enbom
Escape from New York please! It's the most 80s movie of all time. Eye patch wearing Kurt Russell is dropped into Manhattan (which is now a prison island) to rescue the president. The cameraman might as well rub cocaine off the lens mid shot
Donovan Morgan
Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter. It's mad, bad and wonderful to watch.
Donovan Morgan
Doom: Annihilation. The second film of the game. I think it would scores a surprising amount on the Christian movie bingo card.
Chess Piece Face
Strong agree. The 9-year saga of production failures on this debacle is worthy of its own Citation Needed.
Trepanda
Nothing But Trouble Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Demi Moore, Digital Underground (w/ Tupac) and Daniel Baldwin
CarrieBoo
We're due for another Roland Emmerich
CarrieBoo
They did this one
Patrick Faulkner
Lycan Colony
Xeciash Vega
Resident Evil! You guys don't do enough women led action.
Nolan B.
That sounds perfect for this podcast then!
Boomclaw the Twice-Dead Kobold
I think at least two of his movies qualify for the main show. Agree with you on the self aware thing. He's not coherent enough for this to be an elaborate parody.
Selena Simonetti
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes is so bad it's good. Hilarious.
Matt
You can just say Heath
Kate Shelly
MST3K already did it, but Space Mutiny. I can watch this slab of '80s cheese over and over again; it's so endearingly bad.
Henry Arndt
Dingo Pictures Lion and the King! So bad it’s hysterical!
Justin S.
QAA did a phenomenal and hilarious review of this movie. I honestly think their pod is the best equipped to review it because Moonfall is basically "what if your tinfoil hat-wearing uncle who everyone has cut off turned out to be right, about every conspiracy ever?"
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
Probably true
Anonymous ethicist, not a serial killer at all, just asking questions.
Pizza man, 1989 a real piece of shit staring Bill Maher with a Cameo from Donald Trump.
WolfWizard
I always heard it was Just Star Wars Episode 4 with dragons slapped onto it
cwoodfield
Scarecrow Video ran a Halloween film series last month where "Hauntedween" was featured. It's my new Favorite Bad Movie (sorry, Moonfall).
Laura Williams
Not bad enough imo
I Spy
Nowhere!!! It's insane and lots of celebs before they hit it big, Heather Graham, John Ritter, Shannon Dorhety
Laura Williams
Also poseidon adventure
Laura Williams
As a child of the 70s i must request towering inferno
Nolan B.
They’ve done Batman Forever. But if you’re thinking of Batman and Robin I completely agree!
Lyndi M.
The Marc Pease Experience is one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life
Rachel J Larris
I still vote for The Postman but Moonfall is glorious in its insult to physics
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
Beastmaster could be pretty funny.
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
Did the guys already do Wing Commander? Movie adaptation of a classic Nintendo space shooter? I feel like maybe so, but that movie was epically horrible.
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
The Stuff, Society, or Atlantic Rim would be wonderful. The latter was covered a few years ago with the MST3K reboot on Netflix, but goddamn is it such delicious awful.
Rhonda Peyrot
I don't have a movie, but I just want you to know that listening to your podcasts on loop is what gets me through the day. It is your ability to poke at the aweful in life, gives me the fortitude to continue on. Well, not just that, but you know...
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
Almost any Troma film would be grand.
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
Return of the Living Dead would be great too, but probably also too good, and better suited to a spooktacular. Must think harder.
FabricatorOfUselessUtterances
I would love if the guys would do Repo Man. ‘80’s cult classic. Emilio Estevez, Harry Dean Stanton, aliens, the CIA, mad scientists, and a scene of can kicking to a sad rendition of a Black Flag classic? Yes please! Problem is it’s probably too good a film, hmmmmm…
Christopher Picone
Fire and Ice the animated Ralph Bakshi movie
Megan A. Dooley
Alternate - New York Ninja
Megan A. Dooley
1990: The Bronx Warriors. (1982). Italian post-apocalypse scifi on a tiny budget! The female lead is the director’s daughter! The male lead was ‘discovered’ by the producer at a gym and he can’t walk (or act)! The main guy is named TRASH which never stops being funny
Jme Simard
I second Moonfall; it is a terrible movie and I love it
Alastair Lichten
Seething sexual jealousy, a slow descent into madness, an Oscar worthy character study, cute otters: this film was amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough. I laughed. I cried. The room span. I thought I was having a stroke. If Citizen Kane was set in the Shetlands, it would be called Billy and Molly: An Otter Love Story. https://www.disneyplus.com/browse/entity-fde77e24-dbf5-4565-8636-b5e67b981bdf?sharesource=Android
Alastair Lichten
Revenger/The Assignment/Tomboy (I believe this film has been released under 3 different titles). Michelle Rodriguez plays Frank, an assassin who kills Sigourney Weaver's brother. As revenge Weaver captures Frank and performs non-consensual 'gender reassignment' surgery on him. Frank is then out for revenge himself. My personal theory is that Revenger/The Assignment/Tomboy was written by a trans man who wanted to do an action film that also sensitively explored the difficulties and traumatising effect of being misgendered, and particularly of being perceived as female in a male dominated environment. Unfortunately he had to wrestle five other coked up writers for the single typewriter and they all thought they were writing a transphobic squeal to John Wick.
Dustin Hanson
Have they done Battleship yet? It’s the worst movie, but damn I watch it every time. I love it.
tsukiouji
While I want the guys to see Voltaire as much as the next bat, it really doesn't fit the format
tsukiouji
Not "somehow," by taking everything good about the book and throwing it out, throwing in random bullshit, and destroying every single seed that connected to the rest of the books. Eragon the book was perfectly fine, the movie makes me violently angry whenever I'm reminded it exists
tsukiouji
Rare Exports An army of naked Santas running screaming down a hill
tsukiouji
Still not as much as Zeus did
Justin S.
It's definitely a funny movie and a classic, but like a lot of those I think they haven't aged super well even if just that some of the humor/tropes don't apply anymore. Like How High is a movie I saw probably 20 times while I was in high-school and maybe a year or two out, it definitely has a special place in my heart, but I worry it would be like Heath having his memory of Boondock Saints ruined
tsukiouji
Harold and Kumar is excellent though
tsukiouji
How dare
tsukiouji
I only want them to do Velocipastor because I need them to acknowledge Voltaire exists
tsukiouji
God yes, this
tsukiouji
But that was excellent
tsukiouji
So you just listed three fantastic movies
Richard Smith
The Treasure of the Four Crowns. Very subtle 3D effects, totally invisible wire-work, and a completely pertinent end-credit scene, all wrapped in an Italian Indiana Jones “homage.”
Wustite
Zombie Strippers. If a frat boy and a philosophy major got high together and wrote a script
Rachel J Larris
The Postman. Hear me out! It’s Kevin Costner, but it’s NOT Waterworld, it’s DirtWorld. Plus Tom Petty!
Jezebel's Human
Two votes! In fact, I came here specifically to suggest this one!
donald mahan
Fatman. Christmas, Walton goggins, Mel Gibson as Santa and a child hiring a hitman
V0ldek
If he hasn't watched it yet I want to see a live reaction of him learning what's inside the moon
Molly Jane Cyr
GI JOES the movie. “I was once a man…”
Matt
Ultraviolet with Milla Jovovich, a bad vampire (sorta) movie. Some people argue Bubba Hotep is just plain bad, I argue that it’s good bad. Also the first Tomb Raider movie from 2001. The one with Angelina Jolie, Daniel Craig, Chris Barrie and (gak) Jon Voight.
Frogacuda
Shut your hooooooole!
Frogacuda
Megalopolis is the best bad movie I have seen in years. It's layers and layers of camp and confoundingly bad creative decisions, I have already watched it three times.
Nolan B.
I know it’s been said, but Moonfall. It is one I know Noah will love to hate, because the script is hilariously bad and cringey..even worse than the Fast films.
Nolan B.
I agree, could have been much better, but a fun movie.
Nicholas Monter
Nothing as good as Weng-Weng. No Really. It's a Filipino short person who is a spy who does upercuts to the bad guy's balls. He launches (gets thrown) at the enemy. And even gets the ladies (said as a desperate teenage boy). They have dubbed full version on YouTube. Look up, "Weng Weng Full Movie" and there is a good collection. The For Y'ur Height Only was my go to post election tonic. If you doubt my assessment The Bad Movie Bible guy did a clip/trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFTL7xO-5cU Note: There is a valid argument that he is exploited and maybe shouldn't watch it - but it's nowhere near as toxic as most of the movies on the main feed.
Kevin Meier
Xtro, best to go in blind but it's truly and madly, terrible and entertaining. It's on both shudder and amazon prime, it's a horror movie from the 80's and had a budget of only 60k. The only question is after paying to get a panther on set how much of the remaining money was spent on cocain
Anita Squires
Something from when Pamela Anderson was trying to be a movie star Barb Wire
Timothy Lehnerer
Congo has the Avengers: Endgame of "Hey, THAT guy!" casts as well.
Kevin McGonigle
Malignant. A really dumb premise that’s Execution is so entertaining. Plus backwards fighting
Jennifer Bourne
I second this one. It's shockingly bad: ugly, dopey, corny, crass and cringy. If it came out today I might mistake it for an AI generated clusterf**k.
Jeff Graham
I'm pretty sure the lighting made watching AvP2 almost impossible.
Brynley Andrews
The Big Hit. It has Marky Mark in the lead of a comedy, but he has zero clue he's making a comedy
Adam Parkin
Completely agree with you. Self aware bad movies don't fit the format
Timothy Lehnerer
Friends don't let friends watch Aliens vs. Predator 2.
Timothy Lehnerer
Truth or Dare?: A Critical Madness. It's the Florida Man of slasher movies, directed by an 18 year old for the direct-to-VHS horror market.
Matthew Maxon
Horns. The one with Daniel Radcliff. I think its fairly religious too.
Jim Monroe
Food Fight! It’s an animated horror show that seems like it was only made to do some sort of financial fraud. Plus it fits with the theme of November nicely.
Matty B
Congo. Trully a good bad good movie. Folks, making fun of movies that are bad on purpose, ie Velosapastor, is not good comedy. Think about it.
Michael Hardy
Batman Forever, starring Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy, Chris O’Donnell as Robin and Val Kilmer as a stack of lumber.
Michael Hardy
A new one: Hundreds of Beavers (on Amazon Prime right now). It’s either in the so-bad-it’s-good category or else it’s subversively brilliant. I haven decided yet.
Nolan B.
Perfect! It was so, so bad..but somehow watchable.
Trimethylxanthine
I recommend it. It's an insane concept but actually well executed. It's for free on Tubi last I checked
Richie Mercado
Wow… that was awful. 😂
Richie Mercado
I deleted my suggestion after remembering a truly awful ‘newer’ movie. High-Rise. One of the most star-studded awful movies I’ve ever seen. The writer of that film must have continually been like, “I don’t think they get it yet.”
One I'd Nick
Just listened to the werewolf ambulance episode on event horizon & Katie fucking haaaaates that movie 🤣
One I'd Nick
If we're doing that, why not go all in & do dragonheart?
One I'd Nick
I may want to save this for next month, but the Santa Claus movie (1985) Audley Moore as an elf and John Lithgow as an evil 80s toy company CEO. It's even got a Burgess Meredith cameo! It's bad and I absolutely love it!
Thomas J McMullan
Old school bad CREEPING TERROR New school Meg 2 The Trench
Ian (no, not that one)
You shall not deny my truth!!!
Mockingbird Nation
Well now I need to see that
Mockingbird Nation
Seconded
Mockingbird Nation
I wrote a review of that for Bullshido like 20 years ago
Mockingbird Nation
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (you can HEAR Renner’s internal dialogue ‘I HAVE TWO OSCAR NOMINATIONS’)
Jeff Graham
AvP2, Terminator Genisys, Anchorman 2, any Rob Schneider movie....
B. King
Predator 2 (1990) Gary Busey, Morton Downey Jr., Danny Glover, Bill Paxton eating the scenery, Vodou Witch Doctor! Gangland craziness of the late 80's early 90's with all the cultural sensitivity that suggests.
marissa haire
Showgirls
Anonymous ethicist, not a serial killer at all, just asking questions.
Snow White and the Huntsman. Kristen Stewarts flattest face acting ever, actors turned into dwarfs with a horrible visual effect. It's got it all. Genuinely both absurd and terrible.
B. King
I will die on the hill that this is a fun movie. Not good, but I love it anyway for being so fucking crazy.
Andrew Orrock
https://mst3k.fandom.com/wiki/MST3K_701_-_Night_of_the_Blood_Beast How could you not?
Sean Young
Every time I think I have a good one, I read these suggestions and resign myself to silence lol. These are all so, so bad it's fantastic
Timothy Addison
I still say Stephen King's SLEEPWALKERS
Sham Hunter
The body oil alone must have been half the budget.
Mark H
I loved that movie!
Mark H
“Anal sex is my spesheealitee”
Sham Hunter
It is the only DVD I kept during the great purge of 2020. I don’t have a DVD player or a computer with a disc drive. I got rid of all the rest but I couldn’t bring myself to part with Masters of the Universe. I want to be cremated with it.
Mark H
I knew you’d be in here somewhere offering that up
Aaron Irvin
Neil Breen, I am here... Now. It's on brand and everything.
LIZ, the Certified Financial Panther
Catwoman (the Halle Berry one), Van Helsing, Killer Sofa, and 2 additional votes for Waterworld and Predator 2 (which I also still very much enjoy!)
Thomas Wafer
Have you guys reviewed The Room.
Sham Hunter
Masters of the Universe. I just love it, I love everything. It is the best bad movie. It brings me joy.
Tsukiwolf42
it's not a bad movie it just could have been so much better.
Dreamcrusher
This needs to happen
Razaica
Same!! I love this movie so much
Dreamcrusher
YESSSS! I forgot about this movie and assumed it was already reviewed because it is iconicly bad. It is beyond The Core level of stupidity. This has to be reviewed at some point
Bunny Bismuth, Bun-Bun of Seething
I'm still going to push the idea of doing Papi Gudia. Literally just Child's Play 1 but Bollywood.
Bunny Bismuth, Bun-Bun of Seething
And based off the lies of a crazy religious freak who pretended to be an expert
Ian (no, not that one)
Robot Jox! "Fifty years after a nuclear holocaust, mankind is decimated and the surviving nations—the American western-influenced Market and the Soviet-Russian-influenced Confederation—have agreed to outlaw traditional open war. In their place, disputes are settled with gladiator-style matches between giant robots operated by pilots called "robot jox" who are contracted to fight ten matches." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_Jox
Dreamcrusher
Second this suggestion, I saw it in theaters. and It's the must see cinematic disaster of 2024
Blue Gemini
Unironically love and treasure this movie
Dustin Larmore
I'm the only person on earth who likes Krampus, and I'm proud to wear that badge.
CarrieBoo
Dante's Peak. The best bad movie in existence. Pierce Brosnan just always lets me know "It's ok. It's ok. It's ok."
Adam Parkin
3 Dev Adam, a completely unauthorised Turkish superhero film from the 1970s (Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam AKA Turkish Star Wars is also amazing in the right (wrong?) ways)
Razaica
Not sure it's bad enough, but it's certainly Christian enough: Van Helsing (2004)
itai
SUPER STORM . Iam watching it on youtube, havent even finished watching it yet but its really bad good
John Sales
Only the Strong! https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0107750/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_only%2520the%2520strong
Justin S.
How High, Half Baked, Harold & Kumar, basically any late 90s/early 2000s stoner movie.
Adam Parkin
A second vote for Predator 2 (which I still enjoy :P )
DonLyn
How about 'I bought a vampire motorcycle'? It's basically Christine, but worse-better in every way. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0097550/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Jess Morgan
You guys MUST do Dancin': It's On!
Christopher Arguin
For years this was the episode of MST3K I put on to fall asleep. The night I actually stayed awake for the whole movie I knew I was in trouble!
Christopher Arguin
I love this moving for the sheer "How the hell did this get made" feeling, with the added bonus that we actually know exactly why it was made and released.
Stella
I'd love to see more Neil Breen! And seconding Verotika! :) Also idk if this is considered bad because it's kind of a cult classic but "Repo! The Genetic Opera" is one of my all time favorites (fully unironically, I love this movie) and it gets shit on a lot.
Laura Lusby
Killer Clowns from Outer Space
Billy and Ashley
Vibrations (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmLJmPoMZes) I've been waiting for a music movie month suggestion and have been wanting to submit this one for years. Upcoming musician loses his hands when he is attacked on his way to a gig. Loses all hope and ends up homeless in New York. His life is turned around when he is taken in by techno fans and given a set of robotic hands to play music again. This movie has been a guilty pleasure since childhood.
Laura Lusby
well, the book was written by a literal child. But the movie was…worse…somehow
Flickolas Cage
Hell Comes to Frogtown
Kristin
Fear with a young Marky Mark and that roller coaster scene
perminal
... and God Spoke from 1993 They were going for a Spinal Tap kinda thing, ye ol' mocumentary. A couple parts I vaguely recall landing (last watched it on vhs rental forever ago).
Mark Siefert
Either or. I’m convinced that the more Breen they watch the more Heath and Cecil will come to realize that he IS NOT self-aware nor is he a genius.
What do we want, time travel. When do we want it. That's Irrelevant!
Beastmaster
What do we want, time travel. When do we want it. That's Irrelevant!
BASEketball Rookie of the Year Waterworld
Boomclaw the Twice-Dead Kobold
Yaaaassss! I was going to say Fateful Findings myself. After the misery of this month, I've got a need for Breen.
Christopher Brian
While we are here, Immortals. Zac Snyder does something I’ve never thought possible: he fucks up Greek mythology.
Trimethylxanthine
Sharkside of the moon. Nazi sharks on the moon.
Trimethylxanthine
Wolf Cop. We cried with laughter and joy at how perfectly bad it is
Tsukiwolf42
Krampus
Chelsy Theriault
Yaaas!
Robert Muse
Monster a go go
Morten Worsøe Schoubye
Troll. A Norwegian horror movie in which a folklorists hunts a giant troll that came alive and kill’s people. It’s quite bad, and it would provide us, the faithful listeners, with the joy of having Eli pronounce Norwegian words.
Robert Muse
Pray for death
Robert Muse
Hard target
Robert Muse
On deadly ground
Freak Speely
Man, you're on their patreon leaving this comment. Just search the catalog first.

Levi cox
A couple suggestions: Eat the rich (Lemmie of Motörhead fame produced British comedy) Predator 2 (a non stop bag of racial and gender stereotypes at full strength in 1990) quite the decline from the first.
Jillian
miami connection
Gregory F Ladle
Moonfall!!!!..I want to listen to Noah experience the physics and space program.
Vausch Abendroth
How dare you Fun bad The sequel with hulk hogan sounds more fitting given recent events they made a sequel? Mila Kunis?! *no judgement*
V0ldek
Reagan is an obvious one, however I'm not sure if it's not a main-feed thing. Moonfall - I want Noah to go insane trying to explain the physics. It's also an amazing "so bad it's good", 10/10 recommend watching it.
G. T. Blackwell
Eragon. I can't believe y'all haven't done Eragon yet. It's Lord of the Rings meets Game of Thrones, written by an idiot.
Jenamarie
Alien Factor. Bad acting, bad sound quality, bad editing, but so dumb it's good.
Nolan B.
Christmas with the Kranks
Trevor Stephens
Event Horizon Double Dragon 3 ninjas American Psycho 2 Dude where's my car
Andrew Newell
“Mazes and Monsters”, featuring a baby Tom Hanks driven mad by dungeons and dragons, to the point he thinks a subway train is a dragon
Vausch Abendroth
Well if y'all wanna feel a little trauma, there's always "Cool Cat Saves the Kids." Maybe if y'all get it enough attention Derek Savage will make the sequel he floated, "Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting." That's not a joke.
Odie
Adding yet another vote for the immortal, devinely inspired Velocipastor.
Caitlin Cipriano
A Dean Cain Christmas, AKA: Small Town Santa. You can have a drinking game to the fake stuffed dog. That'll make sense when you watch the movie
VapeQueen
Electric Dreams
Joshua Talbert
The first Mortal Kombat movie
Mark Siefert
It’s time for another Neil Breen movie! Twisted Pair.
Kevin
Starship Troopers... wait did they already do that one?
Someone in the military mistyped DEI as DUI and that’s how we got Pete Hegseth
*you’re That said… Congo is a terrible movie I love.
Wojciech Kaczkowski
Verotika. You guys deserve to watch a sleazy awful movie for a change.
WelcomeToFalse
Champagne & Bullets! It has a Satanic cult, one location, Room-esque sex scenes, and Wings Hauser on all the drugs.
A.J.
Hudson Hawk. Can't tell you why I loved it but I did.
GenmuLVLX
Red Zone Cuba
