It might be a little different in Des Moines, where this is an actual thing to have it on the 30th, but in a lot of other other parts of Iowa (where I grew up), it was just to have a set date and time for trick-or-treating that could be moved around for school nights

Since Iâm not a patron for Skepticrat, I figured that I would point out here that beggars night is a thing in a lot of the Midwest. Itâs mostly just so that towns can pick the most convenient day for trick-or-treating. The thing is just also another tradition from the Midwest. A lot of trick-or-treaters will also, but itâs not really something that people get held to.
