GAM346: Eat the Sun
🕑 Added 2022-04-04 18:12:09 +0000 UTCThis week, we ask the questions "do you really need to eat food?" and "does staring directly into the sun damage your eyes?" and find that the answers are, unequivocally, "yes" and "yes."

Listening through the back catalog, and Eli's tone in the first interstitial is *so fucking real.* "I don't... I don't know what I'll do." Holy shit, the feels.

"Empty of fish" wasn't bad, but for a sun-staring dating app, "Blinder" was right there.

So I’m the operations manager for a large cannabis retail chain now. When are you coming to Portland?

Apparently the body builder who just wants attention in the film was actually a breatharian guru caught eating at McDonald’s. He then preached that Big Macs and Diet Coke provide spiritual 5D energy(?). It’s fucking weird. https://screenshot-media.com/the-future/food/breatharianism-diet-cult/

I wish I could say it isn't, but it is. Le sigh.

"in more profound cases a total loss of the desire and need to eat food" Well, to be fair, corpses have a total loss of desire and need to eat food.

I can't remember what episode it was, but apparently Eli was a 9/11 truther and someone convinced him to go talk to Noah about it.

I’m not quite convinced this is a real movie.

I'm so glad Eli met Noah and got pulled from the crazy edge. Has Noah told the story about how was able to back away from the woo?

It was mentioned that he was a skijumper. I am Norwegian and it is a very popular wintersport here. Just want to mention that there is a problem with eating disorders among the male atletes ok this sport. Thought it might be worth mentioning.

Crazy. I'm listening to old episodes of everyone's from the past. Currently listening to February of 15, and just listened to a CogDis where the Breatharian cult leader got busted eating at McDonald's, then claimed McDonald's was a 5th dimensional space, so it was ok.

If you pay attention the people in this only ever stare at the sun when it’s low in the sky because at that time of day the light is coming through a shit load of atmosphere and you can just about stand to look at it without pain (thought it’s still not good for you). You never see anyone looking straight up at mid day because that would be agony.

I have been looking for a breatharian documentary since 60 Minutes Australia tested Jasmuheen's claims and her kidneys nearly shut down. GAM just whips one out like it ain't no thing. I'm so mad right now.

Remember Drumpf staring at the eclipse everyone was warned to “not stare at directly.” This reminds me of that. I was so ready for this episode that I tried to find stuff on YT from this and the comments on clips of this were either true believers or very good impersonators.

"Modern day sun gazers claim a multitude of health benefits including better eyesight, increased vitality, weight loss, and in more profound cases a total loss of the desire and need to eat food." So vision-based photosynthesis?
GenmuLVLX
That has to be the greatest title for a "documentary" I've ever heard.
