Chapter 593: An Old Scene
🕑 Added 2025-05-23 13:00:15 +0000 UTCDivine-level devils did exist, but all those born would destroy the system they were in before returning to the Nine Hells Abyss. Once there, they would contend for the hegemony of the layers, rarely venturing out.
For divine-level devils, ordinary souls, or even demigod souls, no longer attracted them. They liked divine souls, but how easy was it to get a divinity’s soul? So, they often remained in the Nine Hells Abyss. Unless they had a perfect opportunity to grab a divine soul without allowing their enemies to take advantage of them, it was unlikely for them to leave.
At least until the Nine Hells Abyss became overpopulated, forcing them to seek other land.
And now, a new divine-level devil had been born.
Tlaloc’s aura surged, and she wanted to immediately deal with the newborn devil, but she halted in her steps. Naturally, it was not out of her own free will. She had already received the message that the other systems wanted her to leave the devil to them.
The god queen frowned and wanted to ignore them, but she ultimately compromised. Because of the devil, a new emergency All Pantheon Conference was held in Tlaloc’s temple.
Tlaloc sat in the highest seat, looking down at all the others. Gone was her amiable expression, and in its place was a cold gaze. It was understandable. After all, everyone had stopped her from eradicating a dangerous threat to her home. Although she temporarily suppressed the divine-level devil, his presence left many hidden dangers.
Nahui Ollin, which would have been able to welcome its third divinity, had countless incidents of mortals falling prey to devils. Even the third divinity’s birth had been delayed.
Tianyi also appeared to listen in. Because the Immortal Court was satisfied as long as they could maintain a rank among the top ten, they did not care much.
Although the All Pantheon Conference was held in the Nahui Ollin System, many divinities appeared. This time, they had their subordinates use various tools to project themselves across the universe, like long-distance video calls.
Tlaloc helmed the meeting. The first agenda was naturally the remuneration the Nahui Ollin System would receive. How could the other divinities not know the dangers of a native divine-level devil? Had it been in their own systems, they would have done everything to eliminate the danger as soon as possible.
The various pantheons all agreed to compensate God Queen Tlaloc, but they argued over the exact amount. They knew she would not relent and not allow their conference to continue if they did not reach a settlement, so they finally compromised and promised enough benefits and resources.
Then came the main agenda.
“So, how are we going to deal with this divine devil?” a divinity asked.
“I suggest we wait until a divinity from each system arrives,” God King Horus said.
“Too slow,” God King Herakles said. “Divinities should be allowed to act as soon as they arrive.”
“Impossible,” God King Thor said. His reddish-copper beard trembled as he snorted. “Don’t think we don’t know that you still have one teleportation usage. If we agree, wouldn’t it allow you to snag the divine-level devil yourself and automatically make the Herakles System number one?”
When the other pantheons terminated the cooperation between the Herakles System and Immortal Court, they allowed the Herakles System to teleport three times. Of course, there was a number limit and sending either to or from the Nahui Ollin System counted as one usage. In other words, if the Herakles System wanted to exchange troops, they would have to use their teleportation chance two times.
At the time, none of the pantheons set a clause prohibiting divinities from crossing.
Although a divinity would greatly increase the rate of earning points, they didn’t think the Herakles System would send one. If a divinity could solve the devil's problem, Tlaloc would not have been pushed to the point of allowing other systems to use her world as a hunting ground. Not to mention the unspoken rules.
It was another story for a divine-level devil though.
“We shouldn’t focus solely on the logical aspect,” King Arthur said. “Although earning points is important, we should also consider the dangers of a divine-level devil. If we allow it to escape because of our infighting, it would lay a huge landmine for us in the future.”
Tlaloc couldn’t help but send a grateful glance toward the god king of the Avalon System. Although he only mentioned the future dangers, getting rid of the divine-level devil would be more helpful to the Nahui Ollin System.
While she thought this, several other pantheons couldn’t help but glance at the Avalon System. When the divine-level devil was born, it was in the Mictlan the Avalon System had taken charge of. Naturally, the Avalon System suffered the most casualties.
Because of the disaster, although they haven’t fallen out of the top ten, it was only a matter of time. Because they had no hope, perhaps they have already made an alliance like the Immortal Court.
Or, at least, everyone speculated.
“I also think we should be able to take action once we arrive,” God King Horus said. He stared at Herakles. “However, we can only rush toward here through the universe and not teleport here.”
God King Herakles smashed the table in front of him. Of course, what was shown was only a projection, so he didn’t smash a table in Tlaloc’s temple but his own.
“You’re deliberately targeting me! It’s your own fault for not seeing Nine Heavens’s value and taking a wait-and-see approach. Now that I’m ahead, you’re always limiting in various ways. You have no one to blame but yourself! Yet, I compromised, but you still aren’t satisfied! Again and again. I think you’re just targeting me. If I continue to compromise, are you going to ask me to donate my points!?”
“Calm yourself, God King Herakles. All we want is equality,” God King Horus said.
“Equality? Laughable,” a divinity said. “In that case, why is there a need for an alliance leader? Let’s just have everyone contribute equally and vote on decisions.”
“That would be too slow,” another replied.
“Heh! Aren’t we voting now?” the divinity asked. “Since everyone is trying to make everything equal, why do we have to choose an alliance leader?”
None of the pantheons wanted equality, they wanted to be number one and gain the most benefits. Even if they said everyone was equal, they must be first amongst equals.
More and more pantheons spoke up about the unfairness of the treatment. In the previous meeting, everyone was loosely allied against the Herakles System, but now they have splintered into factions. Many of them probably have little hope of getting into the top ten or earning enough points to secure a place, so they made plans ahead of time. Why not ally with a powerful pantheon and earn some benefits first, like the Immortal Court?
Of course, not all the pantheons spoke up for the Herakles System. For those that have given up, the Herakles System was not their only choice. Those they chose to ally with would only have to pay more for their support.
Another round of arguing began. God King Herakles knew it was impossible to use Tianyi’s third teleportation to send divinities, but if the other systems want to make him give up that advantage, they must prepare to bleed. Just like how they must compensate the Nahui Ollin System, they must compensate the Herakles System as well.
In the end, God King Herakles reluctantly accepted the compensation. After that, the rest of the agendas were not as important. It was just ironing out the details.
When the All Pantheon Conference ended, Tianyi had a strange expression.
“What’s wrong?” Daoyi asked.
Tianyi glanced at the projection of God King Herakles as it disappeared. He surveyed the other people in the temple before shaking his head. “It’s nothing.”
Daoyi knew that Tianyi was lying, but since he didn’t say anything, she didn’t question him.
On the way back, they were accompanied by a few demigods from many pantheons. On the surface, they wanted to communicate and hash out future co-operations. That was true. All of them had seen the advantage Tianyi’s cross-universe teleportation brought.
Simultaneously, they also wanted to keep vigil over Tianyi and prevent him from secretly opening a portal.
Because Tianyi transported large amounts of troops, supplies, or divinities, the portals he opened were large. This gave the other pantheons an illusion that Tianyi could only create large-scale portals, making it impossible for him to secretly open one with no one noticing.
“Can you tell me now?” Daoyi asked after the two of them returned to their room.
Tianyi opened his mouth, but he ultimately closed it. Instead, he asked. “Do you want to go to the Nine Heavens Universe first?”
Daoyi knew that if she wanted the answer, she would have to. So, she complied. She didn’t enter for long, but upon returning, all her doubts were cleared. “No wonder.”
Tianyi only nodded.
The two of them occasionally went out to hunt devils, as did the other pantheons. With the presence of the divine-level devil, devil appearances became much more common, and this allowed the weaker systems to reap more points, but they still couldn’t compare to those systems with divinities.
While waiting for the first divinity to arrive, the Immortal Court and the others worked to eliminate the Mictlans. They did so, leaving only behind the last one. Compared to before, it had increased in size by ten times, and that was only with the deliberate suppression by God Queen Tlaloc.
However, they still had to curb the devils inside, which were increasing at an exponential rate. Since Tlaloc held back the divine-level devil, the demigod fighters took care of everything else.
The battlefront was divided into eight sides: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, and northwest.
Many pantheons booked a spot, including the Immortal Court. After all, the sudden increase of time for the hunt made it easier for them to fall off the rankings.
As a result, Tianyi found himself in a familiar scene. Once again, he found himself facing hordes of enemies by his lonesome, palms stretched out, constantly barraging them without end.
It was almost exactly the scene of him facing the demons in the Divine Beast Pseudo-System. If you replaced demons with devils and his barrage of Stellar Silences with lasers.
His lasers weren’t as powerful as the Stellar Silences, but they still mowed down true immortal-level devils like grass. Much less needed to be said about the devils below the immortal level.
As for the immortal monarch-level demons and above, they were naturally left to the other members of the Immortal Court. Although from the outside perspective, it was Tianyi’s one-man show.
As proof, his ranking among the Immortal Court skyrocketed. Now, even if second to last place added their points together, it would still be less than his.
Although Tianyi wasn’t happy. He already had so many points. There was nothing he needed them for. Besides, even if he wasn’t earning any points, he could still have everything he wanted.
He also contributed a lot of resources from the Nine Heavens Universe. It may not be exactly the same, but many of them could substitute for materials that were no longer produced. Of course, the Immortal Court gave him enough points on each purchase, but at this point, money was just a number to him.
Tianyi suspected that even the Concealed Emperor and Perfected Huanglong were inferior in this regard. Unless you counted divine artifacts.
Several thousands of years later, a thundering roar reverberated across Nahui Ollin. A savage man wearing a lion’s pelt and holding a mace-sword rushed into the center of the Mictlan and confronted the divine-level devil.
‘Finally.’

What is a mace sword? Is that a sword with a ball glued to the tip?
