Kitsune Boogaloo Re-Write: Chapter 5

There's so much blood.
I lay in the grass, staring up into the sky.
My new minion is crouched right next to me, looking over my prone form with a slow blink.
What even is my life.
I-I...
Killed...
So many people...
My hands are still bloody, even dunking them in the fountain didn't help much.
I sit up slowly, almost in a daze, propping against the stone of the fountain.
It has been about five minutes...
It all happened so fast... the entire fight probably took place in less than half of that.
It also seems that the SSS ranks kind of have an effect on my mind... making me more just... arrogant. Playful? More willing to kill, too.
CRACK
I flinch back, eye darting around.
"NAGURE!" A familiar voice screams causing me to let out a small sigh of relief.
I am picked up, face cradled between two soft mounds. "OH MY GOSH! I am so sorry! I didn't know! Are you okay?! YOU'VE GOT AN ARROW IN YOUR ARM!"
"I swear!" She seethes. "Those principal clan bastards! I'll make them regret being born!"
"Normally... I would say something about the children. But frankly I'm exhausted. I don't care. I just don't want to see another piece of shit in blue robes ever again." I mutter into her chest, my fox-like ears flattening.
"Let my master go..." The mask youkai finally speaks up; I hear a small 'shin' that sounds like a blade unsheathing.
"..."
"Nagure who is this?" Serafall slowly speaks. "Did she... save you?
I struggle briefly before the woman drops me onto my feet.
I walk beside the pink haired girl. "This... is... ah... do you have... a name?"
I turn to the mask youkai, a slight look of confusion on my face.
"Name?" She tilts her head.
"Yes. What do I call you?" I nod once.
"..."
"I don't know?"
"I'll call you Kokoro, then. That sounds like a pretty good name." I decide.
"This is Kokoro. She... is probably the thing you've been fighting over there." I gesture towards the city.
"What?" The woman blinks.
"One of these bastards- the one with the bow and the eye I gouged out." Had a mask on him with a paper seal on its face. I managed to undo it... and she appeared... and is now my minion."
"I am his minion." The expressionless girl repeats.
"I had thought that they had done... something... to get me and Neo out of the house... but you are telling me that they captured an ultimate class youkai... purely to use as a weapon against me... just to kill you... in the city with not one. Not two. But three devil heiresses. Placing them and their peerages all in considerable danger?"
"Yes." I nod once. "It seems like they sealed her intelligence... this is all that's left of her."
"I... killed the rest of the masks..." Serafall sighs. "I'm sorry. You must be some sort of... amalgam youkai, right? Can you... regenerate the power you lost? If you need anything to assist that, I will help you in any way I can."
"Mn." Kokoro replies. "Whatever."
"Now... I think that guy who I cut the arm off is still alive, just bleeding out pretty quickly."
Serafall's gaze quickly sweeps the garden, eventually locking onto one exorcist in particular. "Oh? Is he? One moment Gure-tan~"
She disappears, reappearing over the prone man.
I look away with a cringe as I can see her conjure a ball of flame.
"AAAAHHHHH!" She seems to have cauterized the wound, which woke him up.
There's a flash... and suddenly Serafall is back in front of us. "Alriiiiight! Now maybe we can get some answers out of him!"
"Hm." I grunt, eyes straying towards the sky. "Whatever... I genuinely can't build up enough energy to do anything right now... I just... I just don't want to look at any more dead bodies."
Serafall's hand gently rubs the back of my head as she pulls me into another hug.

I stare up at the ceiling, face flat. I am currently within an apartment complex. Serafall's manor would take roughly a day to repair. Turns out that the fire talisman kind of burnt a fairly large section of it.
The smoke bellowing from it should have made that obvious.
My eyes slowly stray to the side of the bed I am laying on to the pink haired girl looming over me, watching me sleep.
"So... you're just going to watch me sleep?"
"Yes." The youkai nods once.
"..."
"Whatever." I sigh, sitting up.

Yeah... I've gained a lot from this quest.
In one instant I've been given enough experience to level up to level five.
My main... sort of conundrum right now would be the whole 'class reward' thing.
I'm given practically nothing to work on aside from names.
But...
I can hazard a guess or two.
Iron horse seems to have something to do with either an actual metal horse... or a motorcycle.
Considering Dante's weapon choice in the fifth game, it's more than likely the latter.
Dark Slayer Style is seemingly more out of Virgil's handbook. While cool... I'm unsure if I should take it.

Does that... give me some form of regeneration, maybe?
That might be good.
Devilbreaker is what I'm leaning towards, though... as that's what Nero used in the fifth game to replace his arm.
SSSS mode could also be good. I don't exactly know WHAT it does, but SSS did kind of save my life there.
Getting one extra level to that?
I... am not sure if that's worth being put over the others.
From what I know about devil may cry, Devil Breakers range from electrical punches to manipulating time.
I think one of them even transforms into a hoverboard?
It could be pretty interesting.
And, well...
My prosthetic DID kind of save my life there.
Had it been a 'normal' one that hadn't been modified with bullshit metals that arrow would have punched right through and would have likely killed me.
I... might get another opportunity for these perks in the future. That's a possibility.

Devilbreaker Specialist.
And... suddenly I know things...
Huh.
Alright, that's kind of badass.
My prosthetic ability has gained a few new sections.
Armspace:
At first Level a Devilbreaker Specialist gains a personal storage for their enhanced Prosthetics, 'Devil Breakers'. The specialist may store 1+1 every 3 levels prosthetics in this storage space (So 2 at 4, 3 at 7, 4 at 10, etc~) these Devilbreakers may be swapped out freely as a swift action, even in between hits in a full-attack.
At 5th level and every four Devilbreaker Specialist levels thereafter, a Devilbreaker Specialist can reconfigure his Devilbreaker with a single modification by spending 1 hour of work. Most modifications can only be taken once, unless specified. He may reconfigure his Devilbreaker as many times as he likes but is only granted up to 4 (at 17th level) of the following benefits at a time.
Some Devil Breakers have specialized 'Breakage' moves, in which the specialist may push their Devil Breaker beyond its normal capabilities at the cost of the devil breaker’s durability, with most ‘Breakage’ moves resulting in the destruction of the Devil Breaker in question.
Only one 'Specialization' may be applied to any one Devilbreaker.
My eyes slowly stray to where my prosthetic should have been.
Serafall took it as evidence- which is kind of fair. It had a youkai slaying arrow sticking out of it.
Plus, it was kind of spazzy and jerky due to said aforementioned arrow.
Time to make a new arm, I guess.
Heck, why not a few arms? My storage can hold two right now, so that’s one to wear and two for later!
I can even make some modifications to them!
Such as...
*Overture: Internal Telsa coils grant this arm a shocking projection. On command, this arm can create an electrical hand to deal 2d6 points of electricity damage on top of your normal punching damage. (+1d6/5 Levels). This increases your reach by 5 feet and anything struck by it must make a save to resist being bullrushed.
Breakage Move: After punching something your arm grabs onto them and ejects its tesla coil. When shot or after 5 rounds, this coil detonates, dealing 5d6 points of electricity damage, +1d6 per 2 Devilbreaker Specialist levels to anything within 15 feet of the target. For each additional Overture Breakage move used upon a single target, the damage doubles. (For all Devil Breakers used) to a maximum of x4 the original damage. Creatures aside from the original target of this breakage move are entitled a reflex save for half damage. This renders Overture inoperable.
Of course... I teeechnically can't make this yet as I haven't ACTUALLY applied my level-ups yet.

I rise from the bed, arm stretching above my head.
Senjutsu as my third level feat, aside from that I also gained something called 'demonic training' which I used to increase my 'royal meter'. Which I actually can't use...
At least until level four which I take right n-
Hang on. I feel tingly.
My body shudders as with a dull puff a another tail appears right next to my first.
Congratulations! You have reached level 4 and have gained an additional tail!
"..."
"Huh..." I whisper, gazing down at the new appendage.
It swishes wildly. "Ugh. I can barely control one tail..."
"Wait..." I whisper. "Damn it! This'll add at least another five to ten minutes when I take a bath!"
My eyes sweep over the room, pausing briefly on the corner.
I can see a... humanoid shape of glowing energy.
"..."
"Neo... right?"
The corner shatters like glass, revealing the black haired girl I had met a while back.
I've felt some eyes on me a time or two. I guess she had been following me.
She tilts her head slightly then points at her face. She writes in the air, her finger leaving a trail. "How?"
"Oh... I think I figured out how to use senjutsu..." I admit after a moment. "That's how I was able to see you."
My ears droop slightly. "Now, I would say that I'm going to go build myself another arm... but... ah... at the very least it'd be hard not at the manor, wouldn't it?"
The short black haired girl reaches up and pats my head, a small saddened smile on her lips, offering a slow nod.
"Ah. Oh well. I've got some new ideas as well."

"GURE-TAAAAN! I'll never let you out of my sight again!" Serafall cries, hugging me tightly and rubbing her face against my own.
"It's fine... really... Thank you for getting me these things, Serafall."
"No! It's not fine! This has been the SECOND time the principal clans have caused trouble here in Kuoh! Right under my nose!" The woman glares at the wall. "I'm NOT going to allow there to be a third!"
"Serafall... to be completely and totally honest. If those guys attacked me as I am now, I likely could kill them all without even breaking a sweat. After all..."
A white shimmering aura appears around my body. "I've got this now."
"AND!" I grin. "My new arm is going to be CRAZY! I've got an idea to improve its strength by like... forty percent! Plus I got an idea for like... this cool new weapon to put inside of it!"
She stares at me for a long moment, gazing into my eyes.
Feelingly mildly uncomfortable with the eye-contact I look away.
"It's okay, Gure-tan..." She whispers, this time giving me a gentle hug. "You don't need to put on a brave face for me... I messed up and you nearly died... again."
"I don't blame you." I quietly mutter, my smile fading. "I blame the bastards that keep trying to kill me."
"I-I didn't want this." I hiss as I cringe slightly. "Now every time I try and sleep I see splatters of blood, the feel of a knife carving through muscle... skidding off bone. I-I just wanted to stay by myself... maybe... collect books."
I close my eyes for a long moment, taking a shuddering breath.
"But." I eventually continue. "Over the past night... I've done a lot of thinking. Soul Searching... Now. I can see that perhaps I was naïve in expecting the world to leave me at peace if I wanted it."
"I realized that the world doesn't care about the weak... humans are slaughtered by the thousands daily... and yet not even a single angel raises even a single peep about them."
"Before I can find hobbies. Before I can find love." My eye narrows slightly "I need more power."
"Nagure..." The woman whispers.
We sit in silence for a long moment.
"You should know that... I work as the Principal at Kuoh Academy, Gure-tan... would... would you like to go? It'd be a lot safer if you went... there's three devil heiresses that go. Not to mention their peerages. I'll always be close by and the chances of any clan exorcists walking into the school and not catching someone's attention would be drastically lower."
"I... may have stayed at home for a while, Gure-Tan... doing my paperwork here, but I can't... keep doing that forever. And, well, while Neo is around most days, there's a few where she goes out. You'd absolutely be better protected at Kuoh Academy and... maybe you could even find friends your own age?"
"..."
"..."
"Fine." I grumble. "But... I want a sword..."
I pause, tilting my head briefly. "Sword parts, actually. I can put it together if I get the pieces."

Alright, soooo... Ki is actually a little more broken than I first thought.
I didn't really check it out much when I was making my character- because monks aren't the greatest class in base pathfinder, buuuut uh...
Chakra (Su): At 2nd level, by spending 1 point from his ki pool as a standard action, the monk is healed for an amount of damage equal to his Constitution score (not modifier) × (1 per three monk levels attained; minimum 1).
That came baked into the 'ki' feature...
I had thought that I'd more or less be forced to wait for more feats before I could touch that ki pool, but... wow.
Just wow.
That sort of healing is incredible.
To put this into perspective. I currently have eleven 'Ki Points' and my constitution score is currently twenty three.
My maximum health is currently sixty four.
I can literally heal a little over a third of my ENTIRE life force by just looking around for a brief moment and taking a breather...
And I can do this eleven times.
More if I take minutes to recharge myself.
But I probably won't be spending my 'ki' solely on that, after all, I picked up another feat as well at fifth level.
Touki:
Prerequisite: 30 in all physical stats (Or Yokai, Level 5, with Senjutsu Feat.)
Benefit: Users of touki gain a Ki Pool equal to 1/6th their level (minimum 1) they may spend a point of this Ki pool to activate their Touki, gaining massively improved physical abilities. Touki remains activated for 1 minute for every ki point you spend, increasing your Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution by 2, +2 for every 6 levels that you have. In addition, you are granted spell resistance equal to twice your level that stacks with any potential Spell Resistance you may have. Finally, you are granted damage reduction equal to your level, this damage reduction isn't overcome by anything, and it also stacks with whatever natural damage reduction you may have.
Special: If you are a Yokai selecting this feat, it makes use of your natural Senjutsu pool of ki, in addition this feat counts as 'Extra Ki' feat, increasing your maximum Ki pool by 2. Touki is one of the few Senjutsu abilities that can be used within your 'Human' form without revealing your yokai traits, however, if you do make use of touki while in your true form, the effects are improved by x1.5 (Rounded up)
This power is awesome.
Don't get me wrong, a plus three at its best is kind of 'meh' right now, but next level it becomes a plus six in my kitsune form, then a plus nine... to a maximum of plus twelve. That's utterly RIDICULOUS.
Merely taking the stat increase into account, it surpasses the fourth level spell 'galka's strength' easily, which only grants a plus six to the strength stat.
But this feat affects three stats. That's completely broken!
PLUS It also gives me spell resistance AND Damage reduction!
As a demon hunter I'm already given a small amount of damage reduction. It's not that much, really, but when this stacks on top of it? It starts looking a little more impressive.
Anyways, I've also got a kickass arm now!

This metal, thanks to its magical properties and sheer weight will strike harder than most metals, This causes your prosthetic to deal damage as if you were two size categories larger and apply twice the wielder's strength modifier to damage.
Durable offense:
When using this weapon's Breakage Move, instead of completely breaking, its hitpoints are instead reduced to half. An arm that has activated its Breakage Move cannot activate it again until it has returned to full health.

A metal of greek origin, said to be the toughest mythological metal, as a result any armor made of it is nigh invulnerable.
Your Prosthetic is granted a 'Damage Reduction' of 20.
Your Prosthetic gains 120 Bonus Hit Points.

*Overture Specialization:

It's safe to say that a single arrow won't be downing this bad boy.
Also.
Adamantine is an absolute fucking PAIN to work with.
It's also touching that Serafall probably spent quite a lot to get it for me.

But on some levels... would I even be alive right now if I didn't?

My prosthetic hand idly reaches down to my remaining hand, touching the ring on my index finger and twisting it absentmindedly.
Ah. Right. This ring.
It's something I bought from the system.
It has a bunch of spells cast on it that should let me hind the fact I'm not... well... normal. At Kuoh Academy.
I have no desire to be harassed by Rias, Sona, and whoever the hell that 'Third' devil is.
The ring's fairly complex all things considered, with three spells woven into it.
Now, you might think 'wait, devils will likely sense the magic ring' and don't worry, I thought of that.
The first spell, 'Misdirection' basically makes it so I can detect as something else for any divination spells. Say for instance the classmate behind me. Or like... a tree.
Not perfect by all means. But it's the best I could do with so little rewards.
The next spell? Negate Aroma.
This will make sure Koneko doesn't just take a single whiff of the air and instantly pinpoint me as a kitsune.
Sure, not having a scent would be unnatural, but it's a lot harder to notice no smell than it is a 'bad' smell.
Plus with all the classmates around me they'll likely muddy the water somewhat.
The only way for someone to smell that I smell like 'nothing' would be to be locked in a closet with me for like... five to ten minutes.
The final effect of the ring would be the 'disguise magical aura' spell which works on the ring itself. Making it appear like just an ordinary ring.
The ring itself is also not that good looking either, just being a simple featureless black metal ring.
I gaze down at the blackened metal of my prosthetic, briefly thinking on the week to come.
Next week I start at Kuoh.
I should start on a 'disguise' arm that functions not that much better than a normal prosthetic. Because while the ring here has its magical aura disguised... my overture here certainly doesn't.
My eyes slowly stray to the pink haired mask youkai sitting in the corner... just watching me...
I had planned to pretend to just be a mundane human but... ah... that right there may be a slight hiccup in said plan.
Kokoro here will also be going to school after a short period of time to make sure she's caught up with everything.
I severely doubt she'd stop following me at school, nor do I really have anything to disguise her so the begs the question 'How do I explain the emotionless amalgam of masks youkai that's following me around?'
Should I get a story straight now for when she is inevitably cornered and questioned?
Something like 'he released me from my seal. He is my master. No he doesn't know about the supernatural.'
"Naguuuure~"
"Yes, Serafall?" I call out.
The black haired woman steps into the room her eyes seem to wash over me for a moment, a perturbed frown on her lips as her gaze flicks from me to my arm.
"I... can't feel your magical aura." The woman observes
"Oh." I hum. "Yeah. I got this ring from those clan bastards."
Technically, the truth.
I gesture to the ring on my index finger. "From what I can tell it basically just hides my magical aura. Maybe it's how they broke through your wards without you noticing. I'm not sure. Regardless. I felt that since people are looking for a one-eyed, one-armed kitsune... I might as well pretend to not be a kitsune. It'll probably be safer in the long run!"
I can see a brief moment of pity flash through Srafall's eyes before she looks to my prothetic. "You finished your arm! That's great! That really lifts a weight off my shoulders."
"I should be able to easily protect myself with this!" I smile brightly, raising my new robotic hand, clenching and unclenching the fingers. "I've made it far stronger than it used to be!"
My smile falls slightly, ears slightly flattening and tails drooping, showing more of my true mood. "But... U-Uhm..."
"Ever since I got here..." I begin quietly. "I've just been taking from you... just... take take take... and- and that's really selfish."
I clutch my new appendage to my chest. "This metal is no doubt ludicrously expensive... and... I-I-I NEED to know what I can do to pay you back! I've been ungrateful and... and I don't want to be, Sera-tan... so please... tell me what I can do to help..."
A gentle smile slowly worms its way across the woman's face. "Weeeeeell... I'm quite into magical girl animes... I couuuuld use a cuddle buddy for when I binge."
"Okay!"

If yasaka doesn’t bring up he was attacked twice in kuoh while be promised protection from serafall then that means she clearly lack political savvy which would be disappointing considering she a leader of on of the major yokai group leader

I know she's not Levia-tan, but If she's still doing the Magical Girl thing, then Nagure could be her Tuxedo Mask. He has a built in transformation ability and Touki has a visual aura, cutting out some of the needed affects. Plus with his Devilbreakers he can make the ultimate move in all anime, Rocket Fist.

Hope he doesn't go in hiding he's part of the supernatural world. It's kind of overdone in your fics I feel? Be more interesting to see him properly interacting with the devils right from the start, instead of the faux mysterious stranger thing you tend to do. Kokoro following him around is a good excuse for why the introvert MC doesn't have a choice in the matter.
