I was wondering about walk styles, will we have different walk styles for all Paras for us to choose from, and if so, will children have a some walk styles too, I found it annoying that in The Sims 4 they didn't give us walk styles for the child Sims. Since not all children walk to the same either, plus like in this video the kids seemed kinda robotic, stiff even when walking! It would have to be a whole lot of them for the child Paras, just 2 or 3 at most, just to give them more personality!

Hi! - That's correct, this is a decor item. :) - The pile of paper and pens is the object you place on the floor. It enables children to draw nearby! Just click on it and select "Draw on floor," and a coloring page will appear for them to start drawing. Hope that clarifies things! 😊

A couple of questions: when they're in the room playing, there's an open comic book on the left: is this an item that we place (i.e. the book is always like this, open and placed with the cover upside, or the Para open it and place it like this)? When they draw, there's paper and pencils on the floor: similarly, is this an item for "clutter", or do these items appear when you give the command "draw" and then disappear when they stop? (maybe not, in the video they stand up but the items remain there)

Minor critiques: 1) Children who enjoy destroying things would be much more enthusiastic kicking down the sand castle, and 2) surprised no drawing on the floor variation had the child on their stomach kicking their feet? These are nitpicky but little details add so much. Love the sandbox!

Yes, not often,but often enough. And over games like hopscotch and building sandcastles. Kids don't just walk up to either other and have an argument, they argue over what they're doing. Hopscotch "You cheated!" "Did not!", building sandcastles "You're doing it all all wrong! I didn't want that there. I wanted it here!" etc. And perhaps particularly when opposing personalities do these activities.

I agree. Even just looking at each other and laughing, some conversation at the same time. Kids laugh and talk when they do stuff together. Perfect would be if they actually used buckets and spades to make the sand castle (perhaps an idea for later). Also I'd like to see the castle change over time, gradually adding bits as it progresses. Also, hopscotch usually has them picking up something from one of the squares and jumping back, rather than just walking back. That would make the hopscotch wonderful.

I mean they did say that kid Paras can only have two points for their stats, maybe Luke has 0 points on his creativity statistic and that could mean it takes longer for him to draw🤩! If not maybe it can be a suggestion.

Critiques and suggestions: -the Paras building the sandcastle don't feel like they're doing something fun together, more like they were given a boring task and are just doing it. I suggest adding a little animation in between showing one of the Paras playing with the sand by maybe throwing a bit at the other Para and then they both laugh. Something to make it lively and fun! -same with the sandbox, more in-between animations when they're building the sandcastle to make it seem like they're having fun together! -also there needs to be a bit of variation with the "standing up" animation. Them all standing the same way felt a bit uncanny. You could maybe add three different standing up animations if you can. -the kid Para should definitely react to the other kid Para destroying the sandcastle because they built it together. Maybe by laughing or getting shocked a bit, it felt weird that she just stood there. (these are just the things I noticed I know the game is still in development I'm just suggesting some stuff, the new animations are really good👍)

i'm honestly so excited to build and decorate in paralives, any video or picture you guys post inspires that so much in me 🥰 regarding the live mode gameplay i honestly kind of hope for like a watermark on the game or something, which just says like "not final software!" because like, i feel like many people buying this in EA won't really know what EA means. it kind of sounds like "you're special, so we're giving you our game before anyone else!", not like "this game is unfinished." idk i guess i'm just kinda worried that people will judge this game too harshly when it comes out; and that's like the only thing i can think about whenever y'all post gameplay/animation sneak peaks 🫣 i have supported the development of this game for years and will continue to do so, and i genuinely believe the game will be lovely, both in EA and once it's finished <3 i just worry

Hide and seek might be complex because of the Paras needing to find places to hide and interacting with those objects. But tag doesn't require extra items and would make a great inclusion.

Oh my... The garden! I really love the decoration. It's so nice any just looks like a real garden, not empty, just as if people would live there ❤️ I have no idea where you are at this point with child interactions. I like to see children playing with toys but children are so creative, they use every common item to play. The children in my kindergarten play with forks and spoons, try to balance them on their fingers before or during lunch. They dress up with adult clothesand shoes, they draw with a pen on their hands and skin. They collect plants for "cooking" mudsoup, they sort out button collection. They use combs, brushes, Bobby pins and hair ties to play hair salon, or toilet paper for bandages when they play doctor. I just want to say that children play with their surrounding and I'd love to see their creativity in your creative game as well. Toys shouldnt be the limit with what children could play.

Absolutely! I'd love to see the children play with their surrounding. Adult Paras may use a cup just for drinking, but a child blows some bubbles or sucks the glass so it's stuck to the mouth. Children use every random item to play and I'd love to see the children's creativity in the game.

Idk I think the animations look a bit stale and lack character? Like what's shown should be the bare minimum in a life sim, but it just really feels like something is lacking? The hopscotch animation was good enough, but the destroying sand castle was really underwhelming. Also I really hope you'll fix the clipping (I know you said it's wip and it may change, but may change is just not enough as an assurance for me). The Animations also could be smoother and less wooden. Not to be rude, but it looks rather unfinished rn.

This is so exciting! I feel that children often get the short end of the stick in other life sim games when it comes to gameplay! On of my favorite things to do in the Sims (2, specifically) was the watching the children play with other children with games like cops and robbers, patty cake, pillow fights, and the like. It made them feel so much more alive and silly!

These animations are so lovely, also I love the designs of the kids, they’re so cute 🥰 I have a few questions - Will the kids be able to toss a rock while playing hopscotch? Considering that’s a significant part of the challenge is to hop around it. I recognize there might be limitations to that! - Could para children play with their plushies together? By that I mean holding their plushies and making them talk to each other? I remember as a kid I’d often play with dolls with sister and we’d make them talk and fight!! - The sandcastle animation is good, though the kid feels a little stale? Perhaps if the kids were stomping on it together, jumping, etc. or maybe one kid was stomping and the other kid is crying and screaming about it? Other than that, everything is coming along so nicely! Thx guys for your hard work!

They're focusing on core gameplay at the moment for early access and will add hair physics later in the Paramaker, and then find a way to integrate it into live mode. Their words not mine, I asked this question a couple of months ago and they said this.

So beautiful! Love the animations and the different sceneries also to be honest! I’m now obsessing with every new character introduced and just wished to know if Luke, Camille and Lisa will be official paras? 😍 I also agree with other comments that they seem very focused and maybe lacking a bit more of silliness / excitement. I hope there will be more animations and actions that shows children being a bit more chaotic and running around playing for example. Some more idles of them just laughing or being goofy with eyes/tongues could also add this more child like attitude 😊 I hope they have plenty of playing actions between themselves and even Paras of other ages, such as play tag and some sport playing (can be simply kicking the ball I don’t know). In the future Hide and Seek could be so cute also (might be tougher to create I don’t know). Thank you for showing us these xxx

Aw that's so cute! And such a nice variety of stuff already, nothing big or fancy but just regular stuff kids do all around the globe! I am actually so happy to see this, I love family gameplay but always find there to be not so much to do. I was a little scared that there would be almost nothing to do during the early access. Seeing this I am very happy. I'm also happy that it doesn't all require extra objects that take up space (Drawing on the floor compared to an extra children's desk objects etc.) I love that! I hope that during early access we get some playground equipment, like swings, those bouncy animal thingies, a slide etc. It would be nice to have a playground area in the town where children can go! Sorry I am already going on so much, I:m just so excited for the release lol this is a dream come true for me because I will be done with my bsc thesis somewhere around the end of December, so me playing this game will be my gift to myself for finishing the task and I am so excited for it (don't mind my incoherent rambling, I have the flu so this comment might not make sense haha)

I'd just say the destroying sandcastle animation is to tame. destroying your creation at the end of a play session is usually really fun! the girl should be more animated and give atleast two or three kicks and a few stomps. Someone also mentioned how they just walk to their play area, when kids often run

I LOVE THIS! OMG! Have the children been changed? I feel like they look smaller and more kid like now, I may be wrong haha I have a little comment and it's that during lots the activities, the children look very bored and emotionless. Although the goofiness of the sims was immersion breaking, it never felt weird or annoying when the kids were exaggerated! Looks great! I think one way to not make it robotic - like when the walk to the sandbox in the back garden - you could make one of the kids run - like the animation to do something fun isn’t always a walk but a run. For a kid and fun activity - you can link the animation to run. Idk if I’m making sense but it looks amazing anyway ☺️🥰
