Attention: Anybody with the issue where characters are showing where they shouldn't be

We've been really scratching our heads on this one as it's not something that really could be caused by any code on our end, it's more of an engine thing. Our best guess right now is that with all the changes, Ren'Py has accumulated some garbage data which is causing things to get a little strange.
The worst part in all of this is that we've not been able to replicate it at all which makes it very difficult to fix - anything we do is an educated guess at best, a stab in the dark at worst. It's also a rare issue that only seems to be happening to a small percentage of people. It's a real headscratcher!
That being said, assuming my above theory is correct, the below test builds should correct the issue entirely. It's an educated guess for sure, but who knows? I might be right on the money. If anybody who has this issue could take the test build below for a spin and let us know if the issue still occurs, we'd really appreciate it! Note that your saves will likely restart from an earlier checkpoint - the data we've removed here is the same data that allows saves to remember their exact place.

Set skipping to 'All Messages' in preferences and it'll let you skip stuff it thinks you haven't seen. It gets a bit confused when we remove the compatibility data.

The fix seems to work for the places I was seeing issues... then again patch 40.6 seemed to work as well. The only thing that sucks is the speed-through ctrl-to-skip functionality was obliterated by, I'm assuming, wiping or masking previously-hit-scenes data. So much clicking. But, such is the nature of in-development games ^_^.
