One of my best cats ever Jiji was feral when I got him. He would literally pounce and try to scratch my eyes out. He it took about a year of love, food, and treats but he became the sweetest. By the end of his life he was a little cuddle bug and he loved being held and rocked like a baby when I come home from work.

I also think having more information about what the sister was struggling with might help. If work was stressful for her, makes sense to send flowers to her job, etc. Brother ~could~ be a shit stirrer, but tbh, the husband is significantly a larger asshole. Why would she get flowers from an AP and then call her husband to thank him? For him to blow up on her shows he's not only an asshole, but a dumb asshole, which is arguably the worst kind LOL
