Upcoming Release Info + Progress Report
🕑 Added 2021-08-31 22:22:52 +0000 UTCGood news, everyone!
September's Patreon Build has just been finished! That means we will be releasing on time after all! Wooo! Gotta love those on time releases, huh?!
So I'll give you guys one last progress report for this update and some info about this forthcoming release.
First, CurryCatz has asked me to pass a message on to you guys. He says that he is sorry if this month's artwork isn't quite up to the usual standard or effort. As you might already know, he's been running food caravans at festivals non-stop, building up some cash so that once the reason is over, he will have some cash behind him to that he can work full time on Sileo just like I am. I thought this was happening sooner, but apparently this runs through until late October. I apologize for that one. That was my mistake in thinking that it was sooner. You may notice a couple of small things, like how the 'Reconciliation' illustration actually reuses a previous illustration. Some corners had to be cut to ensure an on-time release. He wants to come back and revisit this month once time permits and do more with it and make it better, so please keep that in mind! That being said, there's still some really great artwork in this month's build, so hopefully you will all be happy with it, regardless! Still, he asked me to apologize, and so, we apologize.
Though he's still made some seriously great stuff regardless, as you can see! This month was a fairly demanding month for artwork, needing a bunch of new sprites or adjusted versions of existing sprites, new backgrounds, new illustrations and more besides and I think given the lack of time he has had to work on it, he's done an amazing job! Send him your love in the comments below and I'll screenshot it and send it to him to make him feel good!
Now, the last time I checked in with you guys, I had sent Day 16 off to the team for their approval. CurryCatz has only just finished his pass with Kronos having finished his days ago, but while there were a few minor tweaks made, the day overall got their approval! In fact, CurryCatz had some very strong praise for several aspects, such as a lot of the dialogue, some of the more spacey dialogue, some of the comedy aspects and more.
From the horse's mouth! I only hope you guys agree!
To keep things at least a tad concise, I'll come straight out with it and say that the new content weighs in at 48770 words. Last month's content, the beginning of Day 16 was 24115 words. This makes Day 16 72885 words in total, which is half of Diego's route in a single day, and less than 2000 words shy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone! Though I mean what I say; I will attempt to make my writing more concise from now on! Though I cannot promise that I will succeed right off the bat!
Now I've mentioned these things before, but they're worth bringing up again. This update also contains a change in the formats used for both our image assets and our audio. Previously, we used a blend of JPEG and PNG formats, accompanied by OGG music. As of this coming update, we now use WEBP format accompanied by OPUS music. What does this mean? Massive file size savings! How massive? 0.31.1 Patreon was 523MB. This months Patreon Build is 254MB. So more than half! And chances are you won't even notice any changes! The downside of of this is that sadly it completely decimated save compatibility. We've worked in a system which will interpret the metadata stored against your save file and give you similar progress accordingly with a few small assumptions made about the choices you might have made, so don't worry, you won't lose much progress! You'll simply start the day over. We'll also bundle a few save files alongside the update which are fully compatible saves with this month's update.
Another thing I've mentioned before but will bring up again is the Jukebox! You can now play the tracks of your choice and even download them directly from the artists' site!
So anyway, the build is in testing as we speak and will be out tomorrow in all its glory! Really hoping you guys enjoy what we have in store for you this month. If there's anything you think we've missed or think needs improving, let us know! We went back and made some improvements to Day 15 this update, there's no reason we can't do the same with Day 16 as well!

You guys amaze more and more, and it is impressive of how much you guys still keep striving to go over 100% all the time! CurryCatz shouldn't feel down, he's doing great and that artwork looks stunning and fantastic! Props to you as well, Xevvy, you maniacal writer! Here's to you succeeding in your endeavor though! I'm looking forward to when the newest builds if this is what we have to look forward to! You guys are still doing an outstanding job for keeping it up!
Dude, thanks for the update as always. Not gonna lie, the first thing that caught my eye in order to be part of this amazing community/project is the stunning artwork overall, clean, impressive, and greatly done, if you didn't tell me that the artwork that you're showing was made with lack of time, I personally wouldn't have even noticed, very professional even if the situation doesn't help. Sending love to both of you!.
