okay maybe im in the minority here but i'm not with yall on the last update to the bf who lied about volunteering at the homeless shelter every weekend. I can see why she reacted the way she did (especially with her saying she'd been drinking, emotions were probably heightened lol). I'm not saying he was malicious in his message or wrong in any way; I'm just saying it probably brought back a lot of emotions for her and all she could think about was probably the lies and everything and you know when the wounds from a breakup aren't fully healed yet, you end up villainizing the person possibly more than they deserve (and I mean he didn't prioritize her the way he should've too and she doesn't exactly know what the diagnosis means exactly-- maybe after looking it up she understood better if she did decide to look it up but when you don't know it can cause a person to have those poor social behaviors or not understand those sort of things, you're not really thinking about that). Also (the main reason i started to write this comment) y'all's reaction to what she said just seems like so much victim blaming it's kinda gross (and I hate saying this cause i've loved this podcast and loved yall for so long-- this podcast even helped motivate me to leave my abusive relationship and open my eyes to how abusive it really was) but I mean if this was a narcissist who finally got diagnosed I don't think yall would be acting the same way towards her for her to react that way (especially since some of the things in that message *could* be taken as manipulative even tho i truly get the vibe and don't believe he was even capable of being really manipulative tbh like especially from the quick skim I did of what having STBD means). Y'all even say on average it can take 7 times for someone to leave an abusive relationship. Sure, he wasn't abusive but he was lying and broke her trust and she did leave after finding out he was lying and trying to see if they could work something out then seeing that they couldn't. So to say to her "YOU are the one who chose to put up with this behavior for 3 years" is extremely gross imo (especially when she didn't know he was fucking lying all those 3 years up until those posts and she was actually being a good gf understanding how important his career is to him)... sure she couldve had a bit more empathy but I mean I also have empathy for her not fully understanding what it meant and she could be thinking that oh he's a liar wouldnt prioritize her right and wouldnt even get therapy for her, maybe he's a manipulator too and she doesn't know all the bullets she dodged etc etc (even tho we after looking it up know what it means and that what he was saying wasn't meant to be manipulative... hopefully...). Idk this just really enraged me (and yes grieving still 6 months later after a THREE YEAR relationship had ended seems normal to me especially when she probably felt like she was going crazy with his reasonings for lying not adding up or making sense and the fact he wouldn't even get therapy for her probably fucking with her self esteem months later still thinking about it wondering if she was in the wrong for demanding that and trying to build her self back up and remind herself it wasnt too much to ask). I will say I just heard Laurens ending point there and yeah it's just a drunk "ah fuck you remark". I think yalls judgement on her was way too harsh.........
