In regard to the first story, when I was pregnant I really struggled with morning sickness and there were only certain foods I could eat, pickles being one of them. But specifically, even though I'm a lover of all pickles and have quite the variety in my fridge, I could only eat one version of those pickles (vlassic ovals), everything else made me sick. I even cried when my husband came back from the store with the whole pickle version of the vlassic pickles, it might have been pregnancy but I could taste the difference between the whole pickles and oval chips, and it was truly devastating!

I thought women could do heavy lifting while pregnant still so long as their bodies were accustomed to it before pregnancy? There are a lot of women who continue weightlifting throughout their pregnancy but they just try to maintain muscle as opposed to building more and increasing the weight

American maternity leave seems so crap! We get a year of leave us Aus, then 18 weeks paid through the government. Also many work places will give you payments too - mine done 32 weeks at half pay.

Ugh I’m sad it wasn’t mentioned in the niece story that OP seems to not care about her sister-in-law’s daughter, which would make sense why the mom is trying to force the inclusion. She never even calls her her niece, which is wild to me. Idk I think OP seems to have some disdain for her other niece and she was just such an asshole for that. No conversation between adults, just basically called the girl ugly to make a point. And how does her brother feel about this? Is he letting his wife and OP hash it out? Or is he actually stepping up as a step father to call out his sister for picking favorites? Idk I would love for this to be expanded on in a future episode whether it’s on Patreon or not, because I just don’t think it was done justice on this months bonus ep unfortunately

Sadly, for many people your PTO IS your maternity leave. FMLA requires that you get 12 weeks of maternity leave, but they don't have to pay you for it. -someone whose wages are reduced for the rest of the fiscal year to make up for my lack of PTO 😞
