As someone who has been through IVF, I can tell you it is a very expensive and often very painful and emotionally draining journey (granted I have infertility so a fertile person doing IVF will have a much easier time). The one thing you have to consider with IVF is that even in countries where sex selection is legal (it’s not in my country) you’re still not guaranteed a certain sex. For example if you go through the whole process trying to have a boy, and you have five viable embryos, they might all be girls, and then you have to not only decide whether you’re going to roll the dice again, but also what to do with the female embryos (donate, discard, use, etc.). Even if you get 1-2 male embryos from that round, they might not implant, so then it goes into the discussion again of what to do with the remaining female embryos. It’s a really complex and interesting topic!

I am Mormon and that’s just not true. They believe family is important but a family of 2 (h and w) is just as much a family as a family of 12. Some ppl is like subsects like flds say you need to do that but normal Mormons don’t think like that.

So wild.. I wonder how laws and health insurance coverage will all change in the next couple of years in regards to surrogacy. I saw something wild on egg donation today that's got me shocked it isnt more regulated

A surrogate only makes 50-80k. Highest around 113k. Most don’t get that, majority of the cost goes towards medical bills. You have to cover the cost of prenatal care and birth.
