My daughter was an earlier crawler and actually was starting to be mobile at 4 months and I can understand how worried a first time parent would be to have a dog over. I think of it had been the second child, they might not have been so anxious.

I love dogs so much and my puppies are my best friends but I wouldn't allow a dog near a baby. Especially not at a party where everything is loud, theres a new baby, theres a lot going on. My dog is medium sized and is the sweetest girl ever but it does take just one second for a dog to switch up and do something to a baby. It's just not worth it, I'd be upset if my brother chose not to come and meet my new baby imo
