OOF this one just felt so heavy and difficult to talk about. What do you think on this one?

I do think his intentions were good, but he took it too far
Savannah
It sucks that she got to the point of crying but honestly, women need to experience this. I used to work out every single day & my bf at the time never did. He was super skinny & even made self deprecating jokes about his “noodle arms” but when we would “play fight”? I could absolutely never get out of his grip. It blew my mind. It’s terrifying how much stronger men are naturally & women need to know.

Oh he for sure wanted her to admit that she was wrong. That’s why he pushed it to the point of her crying.. to drive home the fact that he was right
Estelle
You’re the best 💖

OMG I dont know how I bopped that up. Let me find the file and see what the story is

Is there no video of this episode? 🙁 I don’t like to listen to just audio. Wanna see ya cute faces.

Honestly I think if his intentions were that good he wouldn’t have kept her pinned and then he would’ve showed her how to better use her strength against him rather than just proving she is vulnerable.

He was mad that she was doing what she wanted with her body and physically intimidated her into stopping there is no good intent here. If he was really concerned he would've gotten her pepper spray or offered to teach her how to fight so that she could continue to have her independence instead he is now the reason she might not feel safe walking alone

I really wish he had tried to prove his point and she had just decked him across the face

My and my husband play wrestle all the time and we get intense were both really strong so we make a good match. Although he is physically stronger than me I have enough strength to avoid being pinned so I play defense until he is tired out. It's really an even toss up on who's gonna win the next round

Is there no video for this one or did I miss it? 😂🤦🏻♀️

My fiancé and I use to play wrestle a lot. In high school I was stronger then him. Now he’s much stronger then I am as grown adults. He had proven that to me and I was shocked and we decided no more play wrestling now that he’s so strong I just don’t match up and it’s no fun. I understand both sides but he should not have kept going once she was crying! That’s terrible! We always would stop right away when someone said to stop!

Hey I love constructive criticism as much as the next person, but I’d like to point out that Lauren gives EVERYONE the benefit of the doubt. She has done this since the beginning of this podcast and it’s part of why we love her takes. (Leona 👀)

I’m gonna be honest while it sounds like there was good intent to make her be more aware and cautious it also sounded like this was an opportunity for op to show his gf how strong he is for her comments. Clearly they effected him enough to add into his original post. Once you get physical someone it’s really hard to come back from it though. Even if she knew she was safe it can be very triggering

Hey I love Minnesota nice as much as the next person, but it’s okay to not worry so hard all the time about giving the dominant presence (aka men/older men) the benefit of the doubt and making sure their feelings are protected (Lauren👀)

hahaha yes. Maybe ill find a mace story to read with it

There were so many better ways to go about this situation. Take or suggest self defense classes together. Have locations on or be talking on the phone while she is walking home. Have a conversation about the many ways people can be attacked where it wouldn't matter how strong she was (weapons, drugging, multiple people, people in cars, etc). Like... So many better ways than pinning her while she cries??? Also, "Grounding" someone is not what you would do in an attacker situation. You don't "fight fair", you hit, punch, scratch eyes, kick in the crotch, throw stuff; anything to throw them off and then RUN. Maybe it's unpopular to say this but I think it's kind of unfair of him to say she wouldn't be able to defend herself just because she couldn't "ground him".

can you give a story time as to how you’ve maced yourself multiple times😭
Alexa Peters
Also in Canada tasers and mace are illegal, if you are a women carrying something as protection and use it you can get charged with more then the man who attacked you 🙃

Yikes that's a tough one 😬 I feel like his intentions were good but definitely shouldn't have kept her pinned. She needed a wake up call though he definitely could have saved her life with that which is so sad
