The wedding food story is wild to me because it’s based on food preference, not a dietary restriction. Imagine going to any celebratory event for a family member (birthday party, graduation party, baby shower, wedding) and expecting them to cater to your food preference. What’s crazier is that any people I know with a dietary restriction doesn’t make a big fuss when they go to an event and there are not options that accommodate their dietary restrictions. Like I have a severe nut allergy and went to my cousins wedding and there were nuts in every entre and the dessert. I found out as they were serving and simply didn’t eat and didn’t make a big deal. It was their day. But during my wedding there won’t be any nuts bc that’s my dietary restriction even if my guests prefer to have them because that will be my day.

This whole feminine rage theme got me thinking about the song “madwoman” by taylor swift! it’s more of a seething feminine rage & i think it’s a good depiction of how men think women are too “emotional” or “crazy” when they’re mad. I put this on YouTube but I’ll say it here: with wedding gifts, I can’t afford anything expensive or extravagant, so for the two weddings I’ve been invited to that I wasn’t just tagging along with my parents, I’ve done paintings for my friends of them and their spouse. It’s personal and thoughtful, and not to toot my own horn but, pretty well done. I try to go the sentimental route when thinking of gifts in general
