🕑 Added 2025-09-24 05:29:25 +0000 UTCSo I know I already dropped an image introducing Julian a couple weeks back, but honestly, I looked at all my characters and realized everyone was skinny, and I felt like Julian might be the type to get on progesterone and gain a bunch of weight and just sit with it. And so here we are!
Julian is a depressed mess. Any joy she gets out of anything in life doesn’t sustain her for very long. I think she wants so badly to feel, but she knows neither how to show that, nor how to get there. Maybe sometimes she regrets transitioning. But maybe it’s less that and more a longing for what life was like when she was younger, when she was able to find joy in participating in life; as time has gone on, that’s been the case less and less for her, until she is here now at 27, an unfeeling chasm.
My recent character, Frankie, ends up as her girlfriend. Will they be able to manage? Will Julian be able to find joy with her? Will her longing for the past give way to excitement for the future? WHO KNOWS???
Hope you all find her interesting and/or relatable! I was talking with my sister today about how I don’t like to tell super grounded, depressing stories, but maybe I am allowed a couple here and there lmao. The vibe here is like maybe the exact OPPOSITE of Real World (the AJ and Claire graphic novel for which I am developing a pitch); where that book will be an absurdist romp, this one will be allllll up in the feelings.

That is so sweet, thank you so very much!!! 🥹🥹🥹 I have to be frank, I don’t have that much worked out for them yet, and considering all of the other projects I am working toward/planning, it might be some time before I do anything major with them. BUT, I really enjoyed drawing them, and so there might be some future illustrations down the line! ☺️☺️☺️ And thank you for all the support!
