Back about 20 years ago, I was part of something in Portland called Free Geek, which you might have heard about. It was a computer recycling and education project, and it was members of the community working towards ecumenical goals in a fun and tangible way. The entire bench construction project reminds me of what that was like: a tangible project that can start from square zero without having to get too organized or make an ideological statement. It is the type of thing I really like, even as I wonder if is adequate to the world we live in today.

@35:50 Caltrain has a zone-based system and still offers monthly passes, BART does not. Even Amtrak Capitol Corridor offers monthly passes!

How was the overall experience with AC transit. Did you get a chance to try much of the network outside Tempo? I love the east bay so much but haven't had much experience with transit on that side of the bay outside of BART and County Connection.

I like the 40 a lot better, it runs parallel basically to the tempo and it's more frequent
