my guess is nerves, the pressure of making Yokozuna like his grandfather before him... not sure you can call anything Shodai does fire-related, I'm at least not convinced of an actual fighting spirit in him yet....

with shodai it's less of a run and more of a stumble towards ozeki every now and then before he stumbles back down the bonzuke

I hate it when a yokozuna pulls out. A lot of the time, it is not an injury, but a sense of shame. I wish they felt pressure to stay all the way to the end.
