Next day,
Slowly opening his eyes, Ricky flinched at the figure at the end of his bed as it took a moment for him to process, but then it became clear that it was the three-year-old Moxie, standing there silently.
"Who you." Moxie squinted his eyes, pouting his chubby cheeks as he innocently watched his father search for Alina, who had already disappeared.
"Mommy cooking, who you." Moxie pointed at him again, clearly recognizing this as his mother's room and sensing that this stranger was trespassing.
"Long or short answer?" Ricky scratched his head, sitting up and making sure he was covered
"Short." Moxie stubbornly crossed his tiny arms, his binky still gripped tightly in his hand.
“"Your dad," Ricky revealed, but Moxie didn’t believe it for a second.
"No, my daddy is on the moon." Moxie pointed to the sky, and Ricky glanced up before looking back down, unsure how to respond.
"No, I'm pretty sure I'm in the room, not on the moon," Ricky clarified, but this only made Moxie upset and caused him to pout, shaking his head as if he didn't quite believe him.
“Mommy says daddy busy fighting bad guys on the moon-”
“I was fighting bad guys overseas-”
"No!" Moxie yelled at Ricky, who raised a brow before squinting his eyes.
"Did you just raise your voice at me?" Ricky's tone mirrored that of Lucky’s, and the child immediately froze, his eyes widening as he realized his mistake.
"N-No," Moxie stammered, ducking his head and twiddling with his fingers. Ricky sighed, his expression softening as he shook his head.
“Listen, I wouldn’t lie to you but if you don’t believe me, ask your mom-”
"Moxie!" Alina rushed into the room and scooped up the troublesome toddler.
"What are you doing waking up your father?" Alina scolded, and Moxie immediately clamped his lips shut, slowly turning his head to Ricky while the latter’s expression was one of silent triumph, as if saying, ‘I told you so’.
“But Daddy is on the moon-”
"No, Daddy was overseas, not on the moon, silly," Alina sighed, kissing Moxie’s cheek before turning to look at Ricky.
"This is Moxie Mannheim Luciano, your son." Alina introduced him with a nervous smile, and Ricky leaned back, processing the words.
It was then that Ricky pulled up the familiar screen that gave a brief overview of Moxie Mannheim Luciano.

‘He’s gonna be a good mobster.’ Ricky thought, looking at him before smiling as Moxie ducked his gaze.
"Well, he's pretty dumb, so I guess we have to be related." Ricky laughed, earning an eye roll from Alina while Moxie puffed out his cheeks in mock indignation.
"Come with me, Moxie, your father needs to get dressed." Alina said, walking out of the room. Ricky couldn't help but admire her swaying, departing figure.
‘God damn, she really did age like fine wine.’
2 minutes later,
Ricky arrived in the kitchen of the two-story house he had bought for Alina all those years ago as he plopped down at the kitchen table, taking a moment to absorb the familiar surroundings.
"Hey, Sofia, how are you?" Ricky asked as he saw Sofia eating her toast. She ducked her head, shyly avoiding his gaze.
"Don’t bully big sister!" Moxie yelled at Ricky, who nodded at him with a smirk before tossing a piece of toast right at the toddler’s face.
"Good on you for defending your sister, but stop raising your voice at me," Ricky warned Moxie again and Moxie pouted but, after a moment, picked up the toast thrown at him and started eating it.
“Aye ma, I’m back from Tony’s place-YOU!” Marco walked into the house, arriving in the kitchen only to see his beloved family mingling with a bastard.
“Hey Marco, good to see ya-”
"GOOD TO SEE ME, AFTER WHAT YOU PUT MY MA THROUGH, WHAT GIVES YOU THE BALLS TO SHOW UP HERE AGAIN?!" Marco roared at Ricky and Alina immediately stepped in between the two, her hands raised, while Moxie pouted, sensing the tension in the room.
“Why does big brother get to yell-” Moxie pouted, mumbling under his breath only for Ricky to side-eye him.

"Because he's not my son," Ricky said, flicking Moxie’s forehead and he immediately covered it with his hands, pouting harder.
“Marco, listen we were wrong-” Alina tried to clear up the issue which only made Marco even more furious.
“MA, WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING THIS TRASH WHO KNOCKED YOU UP, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND-”
Slap
In an instant, Ricky appeared and slapped Marco across the face, his strike sharp but controlled, just enough to sting without causing any real harm.
"Listen, Marco, say what you will about me cause god knows I deserve it, but you better show your mother some f*cking respect," Ricky drew the line, his tone cold and commanding as Marco immediately realized he had gone too far.
"Sorry, ma," Marco whispered, though his gaze remained hateful as he shot Ricky a look.
"Let’s take a walk, come on." Ricky shoved Marco out the door, flashing a wink at Alina as he passed.
"Be back in a bit, peaches," Ricky said, unknowingly giving Alina a nickname. She blushed at his words, her heart skipping a beat, as Sofia looked up from her toast.
"Moxie, can you pass the butter?" Sofia asked softly. Moxie pushed the butter toward his older sister, then grabbed his blanket and binkie, marching after his new father with determined little steps.
"Oh no you don’t," Alina said, grabbing the troublemaker Moxie, who immediately started throwing a fit.
"But I want to go with them~" Moxie whined, his lower lip trembling, but Alina sat him firmly back in his place, giving him a stern look.
“Not buts, they need to talk it out on their own.”
Meanwhile outside,
Bam
"Oh, come on, is that it?" Ricky taunted Marco, a grin tugging at his lips as his laughter echoed, mocking the lack of resistance.
Immediately after they left the house, Marco started throwing punch after punch at Ricky.
But with Ricky’s body built to withstand the likes of someone like Dracula, the blows did no damage.
In fact, Ricky allowed Marco to tire himself out, knowing the kid would feel wronged if someone came, slept with his mother, and then just left without talking things through.

"I trusted you," Marco huffed out, looking up at Ricky with a hint of betrayal in his eyes with Ricky's laughter faltering as he met his gaze.
“Back then, my ma was at a dark place and you used her-”
“It wasn’t like that-”
"LET ME FINISH!" Marco yelled at Ricky, who sighed but reluctantly nodded for him to continue.
"You used her. You got her to fall for you, got her pregnant, and then you just left." Marco spat, his frustration clear as he pointed out Ricky’s mistakes.
"In those three years, when she was torturing herself about why you left, I was the one who picked up all those broken pieces," Marco's hoarse words came out, his voice thick with emotion and Ricky scratched the back of his neck, feeling the weight of Marco's accusation.
"I won’t let you come in here and do it again," Marco said, his voice firm but pained.
"I won’t let you break her heart again. I just can’t." Marco said everything he needed to, before plopping down on the ground before Ricky walked over and popped a squat beside him, silent for a moment.
"I know I f*cked up, Marco, but can you at least let me explain?" Ricky said, his tone softer now, a rare sincerity in his voice.
Ricky knew he didn’t need to convince Alina, she was already in his corner, but Marco was different.
Marco had been the man of the house after Rocco died, and Ricky knew how much he cherished his mother.
“Back then, I was really messed up, like really.” Ricky rubbed his mouth, before moving his hand up to slick his hair back.
"I had a lot of issues that I just always ran away from when things got rough," Ricky admitted, his voice low but truthful since Marco deserved it.
"And I did the same thing when I was with your mother. I wasn’t strong enough to face it, and I hurt her because of it." Ricky looked at Marco and he hesitated at how much he resembled Rocco to the point it was a little weird.
“But at least give me the chance to make it right, since even if you hate me and despise me, I’m not going away.” Ricky continued, his voice firm yet tinged with regret but firm nonetheless.
“I don’t want to leave Moxie to grow up without a parent like I had to and no offense, but you can’t stop me even if you wanted to.” Ricky patted Marco’s shoulder, a silent challenge in his touch.
“However, if you really want me to leave, really, I’ll leave and never come back.” Ricky suddenly gave Marco an ultimatum that made the teenager look up.
“I know you hate me and I know that I hurt your mom, but I came back to be a better man and I mean it.” Ricky suddenly released his hold from his shoulder, standing up and putting his hands into his pockets.
“But at the end of the day, I Ieft and you stayed, you get my respect for that, for being the man of the house and holding things down while I was being a jackass over in europe.” Ricky shrugged, knowing that he would always support Moxie but he wasn’t going to come in and impose his will onto Marco cause he owed him too much.
Marco was left a little speechless, reeling in from Ricky’s words before he angrily stood up and kicked the dirt beneath him.
“Dammit fine!” Marco grumbled, turning back to Ricky as he gripped his fists tightly.
"Moxie needs a dad, and I’m not gonna let my distaste for you get in the way of that." Marco said, his voice firm only to receive a smile from Ricky.
"Spitting image of Rocco," Ricky muttered, looking to the side, feeling a bit unsettled by how closely they resembled each other and even their personalities were somewhat the same.
“Oh f*ck off Slick-”
"I’m serious, you guys are literally the exact same, except Rocco was a little horndog and you're more responsible." Ricky joked, causing Marco to laugh before quickly catching himself.
“Whatever, Slick-”
"Hey, you still want to be a chef?" Ricky asked, watching as Marco halted in his tracks and turned back to look at him.
"You remembered that?" Marco asked, clearly surprised as even Alina had forgotten about it.
“Of course, don’t worry about your tuition, I'll cover it.” Ricky replied with a grin, laughing a bit after watching Marco scoff and turn away, trying to hide the faint smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“Just because your doing this for Alina-”
“When Rocco died, I made Alina a promise that I’d take care of you guys, I was serious.” Ricky looked up at the cloudy sky, wondering if Rocco was spewing insults at him from above.
“He really meant a lot to you, didn’t he?” Marco asked, his voice soft, a hint of surprise in his tone as he realized just how much Ricky valued Rocco’s friendship.
“He really did and I-...........................................I still regret not being there that night.” Ricky confessed, looking deep into the cloudy skies as Marco scratched the back of his neck.
"Back then, Rocco asked me to be his wingman, but I turned him down for a date. So, he brought Eddy along instead. I’ve always wondered, though, what might’ve happened if I’d gone with him that day." Ricky closed his eyes, feeling the water suddenly start to sprinkle down from the skies.
"We should probably head back inside," Marco said awkwardly, forcing a smile as Ricky quickly jumped to his feet.
“I ain’t calling you dad.” Marco scoffed at Ricky, seeing him sling an arm around his shoulder as they started walking back toward the house
“Marco, I’d be weird out if you did.”

okay now i need to see what happens when the withdrawals get too much for someone to handle (i’m thinking after a particular fling and a long time maybe she becomes a slut trying to seek the same pleasure (and failing) so when Ricky comes back he doesn’t really like her like that anymore (hypocritical but we ignore that) then in order to win Ricky back over she would go celibate (for like a year) to prove to Ricky that she really wants him and him alone (i doubt he would really care for more then a week but this is more for the readers who would hate it then for her).
