First Stage: Reincarnated as a Ninja
.
Part 3
The moment I thought I fell, I felt gravity or air.
It is a somewhat warm feeling that falls directly on the skin.
"Th-This is!"
At the same time I notice that the clothes I was wearing have turned into something else.
Before I knew it, I was clad in a pitch-black ninja costume. And on my head, I was wearing a hood with only the eyes exposed. On my back was a ninja sword, and I was probably wearing chain mail under my costume.
"This is Ninja"
Without a doubt, this figure is Japanese Ninja style.
This is not the time to be calm. The problem is that I was sent to a place in the sky.
"Well, I'm FALLIIIING!"
Directly below is a forest, a deep forest with trees that look like spears, even if coniferous trees are not that tall.
The time is night, but thanks to the full moon and stars, it's quite bright. ...... This is no time for carefree looking around.
"I don't want to die in a fall again! Something, is there anything?"
Ha, that's right! That goddess said something about reading scrolls!
While falling, I rummage in my pocket. There it is, that scroll.
Meanwhile, I was falling fast.
Aa~, this is bad, this is bad, hurry up!
"Sky, sky! This is it!"
It was in the skills described in the scroll. A jutsu to fly in the sky!
"U, oh?"
The moment I read that column, as if a memory had imprinted itself on me, I began to become familiar with the use of the jutsu.
I vigorously spread my body out in a broad gesture. At that moment, a huge kite, which was probably as tall as I was, was deployed on my back.
"Kite Flying Jutsu... I've seen it on TV... and I'm doing it..."
There was a scene in an old special effects movie where ninjas were flying in the sky like this, right.
It's kind of, I don't know, touching.
I'm the one who flies through the sky like I'm gliding as it were.
"Is this another world? I'm supposed to be a ninja in a place like this... Isn't that a little too much?"
Anyway, let's find a place to settle down for now.
By the way, how do I get off this thing?
.
Part 4
"How convenient..."
I was mistaken about the kite flying jutsu. Or rather, the details of this technique keep getting input into my head.
This technique, though named a kite, is even more convenient because it is not floating on the wind, but is moving almost according to my will.
"Thought manipulation, huh... Well, it would be preferable?"
So, by gradually decreasing altitude and speed, it is possible to land safely.
As soon as I landed, the kite that had been deployed on my back instantly folded up and was stowed away somewhere.
"Oh... that's kinda cool"
Clearly a storage method that ignores physics phenomenon.
It's like a hero suit.
"But where did it go?"
The feel and weight of the kite that I had felt earlier were completely gone.
I put my hand around my back, but there is nothing to store it.
I am curious, but more importantly, I want to know what this place is like.
The forest, that's about all I could roughly tell. When I was in the sky, I looked around casually, but there was no light source.
Further away, the view is strangely wide, maybe it is the ocean.
"I don't see any places that look inhabited."
However, I got off at a relatively open area in the forest, perhaps a road with pedestrian traffic.
If I follow the road, I will probably end up somewhere, but I wonder how much further I have to go.
If there was no light as far as the eye could see, it could be a very deep forest.
"Is there any convenient jutsu..."
It's a scroll in a time of need.
"......Hmm?"
I took it out without thinking, but this scroll is quite large. It was a little over 20 centimeters long, about the size of a Saran Wrap core or something like that.
Is that something that could fit in a pocket?
"Is this also some kind of jutsu?"
I quickly unfold the scroll.
Then I realized another fact.
This scroll is not just any scroll.
The texture is exactly like paper, but the text scrolls and the screen changes. All of the writing there was about ninjutsu and the like.
"Should I call this a scroll-type tablet? It's suddenly become very high-tech."
The new letters that appear are formed in a way that makes them move around. The method of operation is very high-tech, but the presentation in this area seems to be more like Japanese sorcery than magic.
How can I say it, I kinda like this scroll.
"So, why is it that the scrolls keep coming out and the blood keeps disappearing?"
Scroll down the surface of the paper, or rather the screen. Then I found an item of interest.
"Etto, let's see, Hiding in Shadow Jutsu?"
The original use of this ninja technique is to hide oneself in all kinds of shadows. As an application, it is also possible to conceal tools. The size and shape of the shadows do not matter.
It has been said.
"So you're saying that my tools are tucked away in the shadows of my ninja outfit... How many tools are there?"
I quickly look into my pocket.
Then... The basic ninja equipment, kunai, the cross-shaped shuriken, stick shuriken, makibishi, kagi-nails, chain sickles, rope with weights, and for some reason, bow and arrow, and a lot of other tools. There are probably more in here.
I'll have to check my tools somewhere once, but it's a bit of a relief to know that I have a full set of weapons, isn't it?
"No, wait, I'm not learning ninpo or even martial arts in the first place."
My parents told me that sports were necessary for efficient arm study, so I dabbled in a little kendo in middle school, but that was about it. I also learned Kyudo in high school and college, but I didn't take it that seriously. I remember some basic kata, but I lost most of my matches in the second round, you know?
"Come to think of it, I'm sure the goddess did some body enhancement..."
E-ei, a scroll in times of trouble!
There was a physical item!
"Let's see, the physical ability is special"
It is circled with a special symbol. I think it means "Extra Special" which I saw at that time.
Any other else is... not written.
"No way I can understand it!"
I shouted unconsciously.
A-Anyway, I'm sure it's great, but you'll have to be more specific!
"Hmm? No, some letters are being added."
Perhaps the scrolls responded to my distressful cries, but the number of letters increased, somewhat reluctantly.
"It is indeed a high-tech scroll. Shinobi-like swordsmanship and shinobi-like physical techniques..."
As usual, a special in circle sign is used.
"No, I said, no way I can under... No, I understand."
It was a strange feeling, but the moment I read that item, it was as if my sleeping brain was awakened and I began to understand the privileges I had been given.
"So reading the scroll unlocks skills? Why go through all that trouble again... No, is it rather convenient?"
Read the Ninja Scroll.
I guess that goddess would think that much is a given.
When I check some other ninja methods, they are still the same. It is understandable how the jutsu works.
I knew this scroll was interesting. It also gives me knowledge of medicinal herbs and gunpowder, as well as weapon care. It feels like an external memory is being added, but as soon as the feeling of discomfort disappears, it seems natural.
But, on the other hand, understanding it also reveals its disadvantages.
The reason is that although there is a minimum of weapons, other tools, such as iron, medicinal herbs, and gunpowder, must be procured locally.
And there are no kitchen stove and no tools designed specifically for that purpose.
"So I guess the physical technique will have to do for the time being? I'll have to get some other things..."
What's more, I'm feeling irresistibly hungry.
"I remember there was a section... in the scrolls about Food Pills."
I have never actually seen it, but I have heard of Food Pills. It is said that if you eat one, you will never get tired. And it is said that only five of Food Pills are kept in the shadows at the moment. And I have the recipe, too.
"W-Why don’t try some?"
So, I take out the Food Pills from my pocket. It is a bite-sized brownish dumpling. It smells strangely sweet.
But, as they say, when you're hungry, you're hungry, and I boldly throw it in my mouth.
Then the taste that flows out with a texture that is strangely hard but not unpleasant is...
"Bad"
Very bad. The bitter taste, which is a combination of a lot of good-for-you things, and the honey-like sweetness that tries to neutralize the bitter taste are exquisitely mixed together, and the sticky and changing texture makes it even worse.
The most annoying part is that it's not so bad that you'll spit it out.
"I guess I'll have to find something to eat... With the knowledge I have acquired, it might be a good idea to look for medicinal herbs and animals for hands-on training."
I manage to swallow it, but my mouth is still sticky.
I want to pour it with water or something as soon as possible.
"Can't I get water out with Suiton no Jutsu." (Water Element Technique)
When searching for the Five Element section and checking the water element, I understands the ninja arts as a matter of course.
Somehow this one sounds like a fishy one, but I'm willing to give it a try.
"...... Like this?"
I hold up my hand like I'm making a sign.
"Water Supply ・ Water Spout!"
At that moment, water is released from my hand, which is making a sign, without stopping.
"Amazing..."
Oh no, I can't stop being impressed. I'm using ninpo.
Suiton no Jutsu. As the name implies, it is a generic term for Ninpo related to water. According to installed knowledge, most of the water used in this ninja method collects moisture from the air. Of course, if there is a nearby water source, it is even easier to activate, but I, the so-called extraordinaire, am no problem to make water appear, even if there is no water nearby. That's what it seems.
"But is this water ...... drinkable?"
Water in the air is simply called moisture in the air, but there's something about that that is ...... resistant.
But my mouth is gooey.
...... Eei, keep going!
