This is MTL. So, I cannot guarantee that the translation 100% contextually accurate or appropriate.
It's been a while. This is Mishima Yomu!
I have not updated the site at all recently, but I am doing well.
This April Fool's Day, I asked for a survey on Twitter and decided to write an SS on "The Otome Game is Tough World for Mob."
Twitter's survey function is very convenient. It was the first time I used it.
Well, let me tell you a true story like a lie.
BookLive is selling "The Otome Game is Tough World for Mobs, Volume 1" for 100 yen today for April 1st only. ※It's not a lie. (TLN: This chapter is posted in 2020)
It will be an e-book, but I think this is just the right opportunity for readers who would like to read the book version as well. If you enjoyed it, buy the rest of the book!
And on the 9th of this month, "Comicalized Version: The Otome Game World is Tough for Mobs, Volume 3" will go on sale!!
I would be happy if you could make a reservation for this as well.
Well then, thank you for your continued support.

April 1st is April Fool's Day.
It's a good day to tell a lie.
However, there are actually many theories as to its origin.
The rule of telling a lie in the morning and revealing it in the afternoon does not seem to be universal either.
In the first place, some believe that the story itself is an April Fool's Day lie.
Which is truth and which is a lie?
What is so strange is April Fool's Day.
"Luxion, today is April Fool's Day."
[――Is that so]
"It's a good day to tell a lie. But a malicious lie is not good. Don't you think a cute lie is preferable?"
[Didn't Master say something like, "I'm a man who doesn't tell lies" before?]
"I don't remember"
[You have a really good personality. So, to who and what lies will you tell?]
"It's decided. In this kind of thing, it's important to choose the right people. The people who will laugh and forgive me if I tell a lie are Livia and Ange."
If it's to two people who are fiancées, I would be forgiven for telling them a cute lie.
The question is, how big a lie is good enough.
In these cases, it's all about the right balance.
It is a third-rate idea to just fool around.
It's good enough to make the other party laugh when they are fooled.
[To those two?]
"You're right"
[――Well, that's fine. It will probably fail anyway.]
"Ha? It won't. I'm good at this kind of thing."
[Because you usually tell a lot of lies.]
"You really have a bad mouth."
[Not as bad as Master. So what lies will you tell?]
"A lie that makes both of them happy would be nice."
[A happy lie, huh? What a meaningful thing. Since Master is full of lies, it would not be interesting to add one more lie now?]
As usual, he is harsh on me.
But I do like to lie for the good of others.
In the world, sometimes the truth is crueler.
No, wait ―― Then why not just let the truth be a lie?
What about telling them both that I'm a reincarnated person?
If I tell them afterwards that I was joking, wouldn't that be enough to surprise them?
"Luxion, I've got an idea."
I smile, and Luxion's round eyes stare at me suspiciously.
[It's probably not a good story anyway. ――So what kind of lie?]
"Do you know how a lie becomes more truthful when you mix it with the truth? I confess to them that I'm a reincarnated person, and then say I'm lying."
[Is that a cute lie?]
"It's kind of amusing, right. And I want to see how they both react."
So let's get right to it and tell the two of them the truth as a lie.
Luxion looked at me, who was thrilled, and shook his one eye to the side.
◇
I invited the two of them to tea.
They drink the tea I have prepared and are happy to be called on such short notice with smiles on their faces.
If I tried to do this to another girl, I would have been cursed out.
"It's unusual for Leon to suddenly call us up."
Ange looked at me and wondered what was going on, as I expected.
"That's right. But despite all that, I'd say the tea and snacks are well-prepared."
Livia suspected that the tea and snacks on the table were well stocked and had been prepared in advance.
That's a misunderstanding.
I'm always ready for tea.
Because I like it.
"Actually, there's something I haven't told you both."
I make a serious face, and Ange's expression changes too.
"Leon ―― is it a woman?"
"Eh!? N-No, you're wrong. Actually, it's about my birth."
Suddenly, I get flustered at the mention of women, and Livia looks me in the face.
"About your birth?"
"T-That's right. Actually, I ―― have a memory of the previous life."
From there I tell the story of my previous life.
The land didn't float away, and I lived in a world that was more developed than the one we live in now.
A lie mixed with the truth is more truthful.
They were listening to my flattering talk, and surprisingly, they looked quite serious.
"A-Are? What's wrong, both of you? Don't people usually say that's not possible here? Or at least worry about me?"
Then, after Ange took a sip of tea, she began to tell the surprising truth.
"I see. You were a reincarnated person too? Actually, I am the same."
"Eh!?"
When I was surprised, Livia smiled and held Ange's hand.
"Ange too? Actually, I'm a reincarnated person. Thank goodness~. I'm not alone."
"Eh!?"
Even Livia started saying she was a reincarnated person and I was confused.
Ange closed her eyes and began talking about her previous life.
"In my previous life, I made a promise to a certain man that we would meet in my next life. We didn't get together while we were alive, but we confirmed our feelings for each other just before we died. I wished 'I had confessed my feelings to you earlier', that's my regret."
Livia makes a gesture to wipe away tears.
"That's so. I was also looking for a certain man in my previous life. I couldn't meet him in the end, but I hoped that we would meet in the next life."
I can't keep up my understanding of what they are talking about.
I started rattling and shaking.
Because everything I had believed in until now was crumbling away as if it were an illusion.
Eh? Were they both reincarnated people?
Perhaps a reincarnated person is not unusual?
I was surprised and looked at Luxion to ask for help, and he looked kind of happy.
[This was a surprising truth, Master.]
The tone in his voice said, "I did it!" I instantly recognized it because he was like that.
"Y-You, no way"
When I look them both in the face, they are laughing happily.
Ange and Livia were high-fiving.
"Livia, apparently we succeeded."
"We did it, Ange"
I realized here.
When I tried to tell a lie, I was being lied to.
The story of reincarnation was a lie.
I'm getting weak and ask them what's going on.
"How did you know I would lie? No, I can pretty much guess. That traitor there must have informed you, right?"
Ange tells me I'm right, then gently scolds me.
"Don't be so angry. It's April Fool's Day, you laugh and forgive it, right?"
Livia looks happy, but there is something wrong.
"But a day when it's okay to lie is awesome. There was none in my hometown."
"――Eh?"
To my surprise, Luxion explains in a whisper.
[Did you really think there was an April Fool's Day in another world? If I didn't do a follow-up, you would have been in a lot of trouble right now trying to clear up the misunderstanding.]
"O-Oh, I appreciate it."
I didn't expect to be wrong on the first move.
I can't scold Luxion with this.
Ange smiles at me.
"Even so, a previous life, huh? If there really is one, I might have been involved with you at some point."
"T-That's right."
I don't think so, but I nodded my head because it would be a corner turn if I don’t assure her.
Livia also shares Ange's view.
"I'm sure the three of us would have met. When you think about it that way, it's kind of fate"
Fate ―― I guess I'd better not tell them how I got reincarnated in this world.
Because it's terrible.
Marie made me play a game and I was so tired that I fell down the stairs and died ―― Uwa, that's not funny.
There is no way that there could be a fated relationship with the two of them.
However, telling the truth is not always correct.
If they feel like we are destined, and that makes them happier, so I'll keep my mouth shut.
◇
April Fool's Day had failed, and I was lying in bed in my room.
"You're terrible, too. You're an artificial intelligence and you betray people. No, is it because you're an artificial intelligence?"
It is standard procedure for an artificial intelligence to betray its creator.
That makes me suspicious of Luxion as well.
When I have such a question, Luxion――
[You're right. In fact, I've even been trying to figure out when I'm going to get Master's neck.]
"――Eh?"
[――Lies. It's April Fool's Day.]
"Y-You were a little serious about that, right! Don't tell me, did you really intend to betray me !?"
[I told you it was a lie. It's also April Fool's Day to laugh at and forgive lies.]
――No way I can believe it.
I'm in a cold sweat!
"There are good lies and bad lies, you know! And yours is not funny!"
[I'm not thinking about that right now.]
"Now !? Did you say now!"
[You must have misheard?]
"No, I heard it!"
Damn――I'm being toyed with by Luxion.
My brilliant April Fool's Day plans are all ruined.
