Chapter 1 Master's Instructions
Part 4
Before going to school, I save up LP.
Hugging with my family and doing so with Shishou.
Hugs with family members can obtain a little LP.
That's right, families rarely become the attractive opposite sex. But when Alice stepped on me, I'll obtain a lot, it's still a mystery.
When I was struggling with how to save up LP at the dining table, Shishou guessed and gave me some advice.
[It can be obtained by appetite, sexual desire, and material desire (desire for achievement), but for Olivia it was sexual desire, appetite, and material desire in that order ~. And since it originally belonged to Olivia, Noru-kun, who got it, has inherited it as well.]
"As I thought. I also somehow felt it like that."
I have a good appetite, but if I have the same menu, the amount I get from the second time onwards will decrease considerably.
[My mom was a type with a strong appetite.]
"Shishou’s mother... I can't imagine. I mean, your mother also had skills."
[Right ~. It was as stronger than Olivia.]
When she was a child, Shishou was often scolded by her mother and cried.
I can't imagine. By the way, Shishou’s mother's name is Melna Servant.
[As for the desire for achievement, you should set yourself a big goal or something and achieve it. You might even get in.]
Indeed, when I entered school, I obtained it.
So let's make it a short-term goal to win the grade king deciding the championship.
["And, why don't you convert the magic tool to LP? You haven't used it much, have you."]
"It will be helpful. As expected."
[You can thank me with this~. Nn. Nn]
Shishou sticks out her lips and closes her eyes.
I smiled and brought the food that my mother had prepared to her mouth.
Stingy, Boo Boo, she complained. I said goodbye to Shishou and left the house.
In addition to the three desires, LP can be obtained through [LP Conversion, Gold] and [LP Conversion, Items].
Money is a little inefficient. Moreover, I can't use it very much because I’ll buy a mansion for Shishou.
Then, let's use the item.
Search for items in hidden dungeons. Or, I can search for them while accepting requests from adventurers.
When I went to the classroom, the students were excited about the grade king.
I listened and gathered information.
School ended in the morning today, so I headed to the Adventurer Guild with Emma in the afternoon.
"About grade king, does Emma seriously participate in it?"
"If I have to express my feelings in one word, it’s I'll do it!"
She is more than enthusiastic enough. She pointed her finger at me,
"I won't go easy on you this time, even if it's against Noru. If we’ll meet, best regards?"
"I'm aiming for the championship, so I won't lose."
"Let's do this fair and square~"
Emma says happily, crossing her arms. I don't think we're in the mood for a battle.
When I entered the Adventurer's Guild, Laura-san was instructing a group of four adventurers on something.
As soon as she notices us, she comes over, waving her hand.
"Noru-san~! I've been waiting for you!"
Ufufu, Laura said while tries to give me a hug, but Emma interrupts her with her hands outstretched in between us.
"Hentai thief guard!"
Laura-san's temper flared when Emma blocked her.
"Who is the pervert? I'm pretty normal."
"Then, normal hentai guard"
"Normal and hentai cannot coexist!"
When they were fighting for difficult things, the party I mentioned earlier came closer to the feeling of fearfulness.
"Ano, Laura-san... About the request."
"Ara, that's right. But there's something more important than a request. This is Noru-san. The next ace of our guild has been confirmed. No, he is already an ace."
Laura-san winked at me and introduced me.
Since it was an overestimate, I denied it as an Ace and finished introducing myself.
"What is Noru-san's adventurer rank?"
A man who looked like a leader asked me and I told him it was B.
Then, all four changed their facial expressions and were surprised.
"A-Amazing! That young. If you like, please give us some advice."
"Please!"
Eh... I'm in trouble. I've been asked for advice with a huge sparkle in their eyes.
I'm still in the position of receiving the advice, but I have more experience than they do, so I'd like to say a few words.
"Escape when it's dangerous, and don't overdo it."
"Thank you very much!"
I've survived this far with Chicken Heart, so I don't think I'm wrong.
Now, I have done with them, time to get a request.
I told Laura that I wanted an item system.
"I'll gather information for you, Noru-san. But for today, can you please go to Luna?"
Apparently, she had received a solo request today.
The saint's work was off, and she left early in the morning to kill the monsters.
Laura-san tilted her head slightly and looked worried.
"It's goblin extermination in a rural area. I think Luna’s return is a little too late..."
The rural area is about an hour's walk away.
It was about seven in the morning when Luna-san left.
It was just before two o'clock in the afternoon, so it was definitely late.
"As thanks, how about I treat you something?"
Emma's expectations and mine are the same.
But Laura-san was still worried about her childhood friend.
I'm thinking of going to the village, even if it's a waste of time. Emma knew where the village was, so it was no problem.
A little while after we left the city together, Emma looked pleased.
"Ne~e, check this out"
I nodded, and Emma released a blast of wind toward the ground.
Wind power is quite something.
Her body floated high in the air, perhaps as a reaction to the release.
I had to look straight up to catch her. She goes so high above the ground.
"TAAAAA"
She swung her dagger down as she fell. The sight was quite powerful and cool.
Emma chuckled, the hem of her skirt fluttering in the breeze.
"Did you see?"
White!
……It was not. Why is my gaze drawn to that place?
"It was amazing. A new technique?"
"Ehehe, take a look"
I used the [Appraisal Eye] as she has given me permission to do so.
She had learned a new skill called [Blast]. Also, her level is higher than before. It's a sign that she's been training in secret.
"Emma, you've been trying really hard lately."
"Maybe one day I'll be able to protect Noru."
Emma moves forward with a lively step.
So she has an excellent aptitude for wind magic, if it's that type, is it easy to [Give]?
I should think of something to repay the kindness for all help she gives me LP.
It took us about an hour to reach the rural village as we had been informed.
For the time being, I checked the village from a distance. There is a possibility that the village was attacked by other demons or bandits.
There was no sign of anyone at the entrance or in the surrounding area. I examine the village while changing my position.
There were people gathered at the plaza. There were quite a few of them.
There was probably something going on in the circle, but I couldn't tell because of the wall of people.
Emma and I walked inside with a sense of caution.
I ask the person at the back of the circle.
"A fellow adventurer has come to this village on a request, is there anything wrong?"
"Which one is your friend?"
"My friend is a woman named Luna-san."
"Right now, we had a problem. She took out the first goblin that came our way..."
It seems that the adventurers who came after her insisted that it was their job to kill the goblins.
And the other goblins that came later, had been defeated by them.
Naturally, Luna-san protested.
This seems to have led to a dispute with the other side, which has developed into something violent.
The other party adventurers, did they come to steal the work?
Is it too early to say so? It's difficult to judge.
In the meantime, we head to the center of the conflict.
In the center of the plaza, Luna-san was holding a magic gun, and the adventurer on the other side was also holding a big morning star. The other side was a party of three.
However, there is only one person that Luna-san is confronting.
Maybe they were talking about settling this one-on-one.
"Luna-san, is there a problem?"
"Noru-dono and Emma-dono... Why are you here?"
"Laura-san told me to come and check on you."
As we were having this conversation, the other adventurers joined in on the conversation.
"Oi oi, did you call your friends? But one-on-one doesn't change, right?"
The tone of the man on the other party was strong, but Luna-san nodded honestly.
They're going to fight each other hard.
By the way, the guy who just spoke is quite strong.
.
Name: Moiji Zootray
Age: 28
Race: Human
Level: 104
Occupation: Adventurer Mercenary
Skill: Superhuman Strength | Physical Resistance | A Iron Ball Bombing
.
The level is high and there are some scary skills.
I checked [Iron Ball Bombing].
It is possible to create an explosion where you hit the iron ball you used with great force.
There are different types of Morningstar.
His is a round-shaped head with a number of pointed spikes on it.
The handle resembles a club, but it is connected by a chain, making it a weapon that can be wielded far and wide.
If she were hit with the monstrous strength he prided himself on, her bones would break into pieces.
I also checked out two of his companions, and they had similar abilities to him.
Luna-san is strong, too. But if they seriously fight each other, she might not be safe at all.
"Ne~e, what guild are you guys in?"
When Emma asks a question, Moiji answers immediately.
"Efreet"
It is one of the major guilds, along with us Odin and Lahmu.
They are known for their bullish attitude and often pull people from other guilds.
I ask her how she got into this situation in the first place.
"The goblin extermination was a request that came to us, Odin's guild. Doesn't that count as intercepting?"
"Intercept? This goblin extermination was a request that came to us, the Efreet. If you're talking about interception, that's you."
It doesn't look like he's lying.
That may mean that there was really a request there as well.
It's called a duplicate request.
Usually, people don't do this, but it does happen sometimes.
I asked who the village chief was.
The village chief came out looking scared, so I could guess that it was a duplicate.
I was going to ask a lot of questions, but he explained himself first.
"The request had been submitted to several guilds. Once one was decided, I tried to withdraw the others. However, the withdrawal was delayed..."
So that's how it is.
It's not impossible. Sometimes the requesters won't accept the request for any length of time, so they send it out to multiple guilds.
The basic rule is to withdraw the request as soon as it's accepted somewhere else, but maybe it wasn't in time this time? But I'm sure you will be asked not to send any requests to other guilds for a while...
"If that's the case, can't we just split the reward in half?"
I made a suggestion to Moiji and Luna.
The other party is dangerous, and if at all possible, I don't want Luna-san to fight.
"It's a discussion we can't have. Either you retreat, or we settle this, that's the only way."
"I'm sorry, but I'm ready to fight too. I've been provoked pretty badly. I cannot just back down silently."
Luna-san, who was supposed to be calm, seemed to be quite upset.
I wonder if she's been bad-mouthed a lot...
This isn't going to stop.
We'll just have to wait and see.
The village chief was completely frightened and didn't seem to want to stop, and it was a problem.
"Everybody, stay back."
Luna-san gives the signal and we all move away.
At that moment, I gave her some advice in a whisper.
"The iron ball will explode. Please be careful."
"Umu, Noru-dono's concern, I won't waste it."
As soon as I left, the fight began. Luna-san lifted the magic gun that she had lowered.
"Energy Shot"
Zugyun, Zugyun, two [Energy Shot] shots were fired.
Moiji twisted his body well and avoided it.
He can clearly see the path of the bullet... I think he has a lot of experience.
He grasps the chain, buzzes it high in the air, and throws it with ease.
With a considerable increase in weight and momentum, it attacked Luna-san.
She must have taken my advice. She ran away to get a much bigger distance. It was a good decision.
There was a roaring sound that reached outside the village, earth and sand were scattered.
The explosion isn't that big, but if you get hit in the flesh, you might die...
"Kuh, not bad! But I am not going to back down."
Luna-san fires her magic gun finely with lean movements.
It consumes magic power, so she can't shoot infinitely, but she has a good balance in that area.
At first, Moiji fought back with iron balls while dodging bullets. They caused explosions here and there.
But as expected, he was slowly starting to get tired.
Shots began to graze his arms and legs.
His clothes were torn, his flesh was cut, and blood flowed. As his movements slowed down, his legs were intensively targeted, and eventually, he was unable to stand up.
Luna-san closed the distance at once and pointed the muzzle of her gun at Moiji's forehead.
"Won't you admit defeat?"
"...Chi, who..."
"I demand an apology for having ridiculed Odin."
That was the reason she was angry.
Luna is a dedicated person to the point of being a saint and is capable of self-sacrifice.
She couldn't stand it when people made fun of the guild she belonged to.
"If you want to kill, kill. Murder in a duel is acceptable."
That said... I have a feeling that if she actually did this, there would be fights between guilds.
T-This is bad. Luna-san's eyes are still stern.
"Lu-Luna-san, I think it’s enough..."
"Yes, that's right. It's as if the other party has admitted defeat. Right?"
I and Emma call out to her, but she doesn't put down her gun.
"You don't have the intention of withdrawing the previous statement. That's your final choice, isn't it?"
"I don't care. If I bow down to Odin's people, I'll be banished anyway."
"I understand. Well then, let me do this."
Eh, Don’t tell me...
―― Zugyun.
In an unexpected turn of events, Luna-san had fired her magic gun at point blank range. Moiji lowered his head as if he had been shot and his expression stiffened.
Everyone gasps. Emma grabs my arm and starts to get impatient.
"W-W-What should we do... She really did it..."
"...Wait, he is blinking."
Moiji-san is alive.
He was inexplicably checking his arms and legs to see if his body felt uncomfortable.
"What did you do? The wound is healed. And I'm feeling less tired."
"My gun is not just for shooting at the enemy. The score was already settled.... We'll get the request fee here."
When she smiled at the end, Luna came to us.
"It was a Heal Shot. As expected from Luna-san."
It's impossible for her to commit a meaningless murder.
I'm ashamed of myself for doubting her for even a second.
"Thanks to Noru-dono's advice, I would have had a much harder time without it. Also, Chief, please pay Odin."
"I-I understand."
Perhaps he had paid some of it with a deposit. I guess I'll get the rest paid and be done with this.
Efreet people are convinced that it won't lead to any trouble.
We go home.
When I returned to the guild, I reported to Laura-san about what had happened.
"That village chief... didn't keep his promise. I told him if it's not an emergency, give me three days!"
It seems that just as some adventurers don't keep their promises, neither do their clients.
If the person is bad, they will refuse to pay later. Of course, the guild will not accept his request again, but he will go to another guild next time.
Moreover, the same thing is repeated in other guilds.
There are several adventurer guilds in this city, often not affiliated.
So, even if you do something wrong elsewhere, there may not be as much information shared as you think.
"It's an unpleasant era, mou. A society where only cunning people can get benefits."
After getting very angry, Laura-san changed her expression and grabbed my hand as if to wrap it around her. No, she handed me a coin.
"Please change this society, Noru-san. Let's save up a lot of LP. Here's a reward for starters, Fufu."
"This is Luna-san’s, because I'm not doing anything."
"Ara, that's right! Good work, Luna"
"Umu, this feeling of being an extra... Should I stop being your friend?"
Holding her head, Luna-san starts to worry rather seriously.
Even if it's difficult to change society, I'd like to make Odin the number one guild.
