Yeah I did an internship with a Risk Management company and got to visit the Disney Studios. They have what’s called a “Captive” which is exactly what you mentioned above. They’re self insured.

Work in insurance. Was on a webinar for Disney Risk Management. Disney is largely self-insured. They may have an umbrella or excess policy that comes into play but likely only after a very large sum has been incurred by Disney for the loss (likely millions before the policy is triggered).
