You probably look pleasant, at worst. Let us yeet beauty standards that have us criticise our own faces & bodies for not being within acceptable parameters & appearance. Just, we sat & watched Sabine make a crack about how she looks better when we can't see her clearly. I'm like, 'BUT YOU'RE GOOD-LOOKING!?!' 😟

I knew I needed bifocals when I started looking much better in the mirror.

My experience as a euphonium player is that keeping the brass section of a band in line can be a challenge for my concert band's super conductor. 😀 (With German pronunciation, that's an oy-phonium. 🤔) I also want to note that Sabine looks good in any resolution - objective fact.

At one time you could wind your own!

I don't think that we have enough time. Wildlife population declines are severe and all that need happen is for one foundation specie to reach functional extinction and the slide to collapse would start and that could happen in a few years. The integral fast reactor proved itself inherently safe and would make its own fuel. All that's needed is to fund Argonne National Laboratory to scale it up but we also need to replace our extractive economy with a sustainable one that eliminates the animal-based meat industry and reduce the human population to well below two billion at the same time. I don't see that happening.

Commercial grade fusion could be 30 years away or 300 years away. A safe alternative to today's reactors and green technology is one bridge to that future. Although many powerful people are invested in the fossil fuel industry, I believe the younger generation will eventually make the right decision.

"MRAMs are made from ferromagnets..." Core memory. Something old is new again.

Hertz is what you getz when you fallz... MegaHertz is what you getz when you fallz off a cliff... funny snarky comments are what you getz when you forget the Mega on your Hertz Sorry Sabine, I couldn't resist getting in line to poke fun. Richard started it! :-)

"The working memory that’s in your PC or smartphone is pretty fast, probably running at around three thousand cycles per second, ..." Uh ... Sometimes it feels that way.

Carbon offsets simply won't work, it's a scam dreamed up by free marketeers in their delusion that the market can regulate itself. It never has, but that doesn't matter to these ideologues. Neither will carbon capture. What we need are large government programs to develop commercial scale alternatives to using fossil fuels altogether, such as my favorite, the integral fast reactor. I like the idea of fusion but it hasn't proven itself feasible yet, always five years out while the IFR has, back in the 1980s. So much time lost!
