Say what you will about Elon but he deserves major kudos for SpaceX. This was his baby, he started it, as opposed to just being an early investor in Tesla. In fact, SpaceX is older. Both companies at one time looked like they wouldn’t make it. Tesla’s credit was stressed as recently as 2018. SpaceX quite literally went through a bunch of blow ups before figuring out how to land the thing. It seems easy in hindsight but at one time, it was a risk that threatened to bankrupt him.

SpaceX works with astronomers to mitigate interference caused by Starlink to satellites. The company has introduced components that significantly reduce their albedo.

I'm torn on this issue. I hate mis/dis-information as much as the next person, and I know the destruction caused by the same is horrific, but... where is the line between yelling fire in a crowded theater and allowing all information through and relying on the audience to do their job and be informed citizens? How do we determine when we have scooched up to the slippery edge of the steep downhill slope on this one? ...and I know that slippery slope arguments are fallacies, but...

Tangentially related to this topic, but Elon Musk is - ugghh. https://www.inputmag.com/culture/starlink-wont-block-russian-media-unless-held-at-gunpoint-elon-musk-ukraine
