Chapter 35 Shitty father

The sound of the Korean drama caught the attention of Lin Ruoxi. She really liked to watch them.
Yang Chen saw that her attention was moved to the Korean drama. He then said something to her with a smile.
"Let's watch it together. I still haven't had a chance to watch this one. I will go and prepare a snack for us. What do you like?"
"It's okay. You can bring anything. I am not picky."
Yang Chen nodded, then went to the kitchen. Wang Ma recommended snacks that Lin Ruoxi might like and he grabbed them and came back to the living room with snacks. They were ready to watch the Korean drama together.
Just as Ruoxi started to relax and continue to watch the Korean drama with Yang Chen, the doorbell suddenly rang.
Wang Ma, who was busy in the kitchen, dashed out while wiping her wet hands on her apron and opened the door.
“Master, you’ve come."
Hearing Wang Ma say Master, Lin Ruoxi’s face suddenly became pale as she stopped watching TV. She turned around to look at the middle-aged man walking into the house.
The mature man wore a dark blue shirt while giving off a refined aura with his well-shaved beard. The only way you could tell his age was by the wrinkles near his eyes and the countless strands of white hair. One can clearly tell that he should be Lin Ruoxi’s father from his appearance alone.
At the same moment Lin Kun entered the living room, his expression became extremely ugly. Giving dagger-looking glances at Ruoxi, he quickly swept his gaze around and glanced at Yang Chen.

“Father?”

Lin Ruoxi bit her lips and wept.

Lin Kun said while pointing at Yang Chen, who was still watching Korean dramas.
From the moment Lin Kun entered until the father-daughter conversation, Yang Chen understood how Lin Kun saw Lin Ruoxi. He didn't see her as his daughter at all, but as a mere tool for his own personal gain.
"Stop talking bullshit already. You just want to sell your daughter so you can get more power and wealth. It's sickening how you view her as nothing more than a pawn in your game. Don't forget that she is not only your daughter but my wife as well."
Yang Chen stood up from the sofa, and then everyone in the room felt very cold. His words hung heavy in the air, piercing through the tense silence that had settled over the room.
