Oh and I’m surprised you guys didn’t pick up on the video calls featured in the movie just being quicktime movies playing on the computer complete with the progress bar. Somehow the computer knew how long the phone call was going to be? Hehe

The UNIX system is a Silicon Graphics machine. It ran an operating system called IRIX and that file system explorer was a real app that was included with the OS. At the time it was an impressive demonstration of the SGI hardware compared to home computers of the time. Actually I’m surprised you guys aren’t familiar with SGI since they were the go to for digital effects in the 90s.

Loved this JP episode(s) and it’s very cool watching it right now because I’m working construction at Universal Studios currently on a boom lift in front of Jurassic World. All day long I’m hearing dinosaur roars over my one earbud playing the video. I just realized today I can even see one of the animatronic dinosaurs in the ride from here. Can’t get much better than this!
