Hey Ross, I may be somewhat late to the party, but I would like to suggest investigating the influence of hip hop culture on the sports world and vice versa. Things like how the competitive aspect of sports informed the battle rap scene and how the street life of hip hop permeated the NBA, and the events that followed thereof. It can draw examples from all over the world, not just the United States. I would love to see if you can find links between the rise of hip hop in Europe in conjunction with football. If they exist, that is. Cheers from the suburbs of Chicago!
