🕑 Added 2018-05-12 13:12:38 +0000 UTC It begins now!As a new academic year starts and I'm flooded with teacher work, I will focus my artistic efforts in a single long-term project, aimed to help me train and display my skills as character designer, animator and game programmer. Blogs and commissions will not be paused during the development of this project, though.
CowHammer is the story of a bovine knightess who must rescue her fiancé after he is kidnapped by an evil witch. During her journey, she will need to enlist allies, right wrongs and take decisions that will shape the outcome of her adventure. A seemingly classic light-hearted tale that takes a dark turn as the player progresses through it.
The development steps are planned as follows:
- Designing all of the main characters, to be posted in my galleries.
- Writing the whole plot of the game, to be kept secret to avoid spoilers.
- Specifying the character skills that will be learned in the game.
- Level and enemy design, based on the plot and character skills.
- Programming alpha version with one complete level.
- Developing unique text fonts and composing soundtrack.
- Animating cutscenes and programming all other levels.
- Releasing beta version for testing and correcting mistakes.
In order to train my 2D animation skills, I will not try to make this a fully 3D game, although some elements might be 3D.
Although information and images about the development of this game will be posted publicly here and in my galleries, patrons supporting its creation will be rewarded based on their lifetime donations, including cameos and access to early versions and exclusive content.
Thank you all for your kind support. Let me know what you think about this project!
