Year One
🕑 Added 2019-04-28 23:31:33 +0000 UTCIt's hard to believe, but it's officially been a year since Stationmaster first entered the public eye. The official goal was to get five people to pay me to make games, and maybe get enough money to cover assets. I had no idea how big this would get, and I'm eternally thankful to everyone here who has participated in the process with me, either by paying money, sending bug reports, or cheering from the sidelines.
I thought it would be fun to dust off the first public build for the occasion, and I got some fun before-and-after shots. It's sometimes hard to see progress in real time (especially while spending hours debugging floating tails), but going back really brought into focus how much the game has improved in the year since 0.6. What originally felt (to me) like an almost finished game now feels like an early prototype.
That's not even counting in the completely new features, like aliens, diplomacy, male slaves, and a hundred other things that wouldn't fit here. Stationmaster has come a long way, and I can't wait to see what the screenshots in the "Year Two" post will look like.
