Project Q : Information
🕑 Added 2025-04-09 11:11:18 +0000 UTCAfter doing a little bit of thinking the past couple of days.
I have decided that it would be easier to treat this post kinda like a Q&A.
But where I ask both the questions and answer it.
I feel like it would be easier that way to describe what I'm planning for Project Q. :)
However, I'm going to start with a small description first.
This post will obviously be very lengthy so without further waiting, let's dig in.
As mentioned a while ago, I thought a very long time about what kind of project I should make.
Something similar to Sweet Affection?
Something opposite to Sweet Affection?
Or perhaps something in between.
In the end, I decided on going with something in between.
That I want to create something sweet and pure as Sweet Affection.
To develop the characters with a lot of love and bring them to live.
But with a bigger focus on the 18+ content and faster paced.
What is with the title Project Q?
I haven't come up with a title yet.
Nothing really seems to click or the name is already taken by another game.
There will be an title before the 0.1 release.
But until then, I will keep referring it as Project Q (PQ)
Will there be as much dialogue as in Sweet Affection.
No, definitely not.
I am planning on drastically cutting the dialogue down.
I still want people to be able to connect with all the characters though.
So likely, there will be more dialogue than in the average 18+ game.
But MUCH less than in Sweet Affection.
Will there be as much content as in Sweet Affection.
No.
Sweet Affection has 18 time-slots every single day.
All these time-slots are filled ten times over with content for all the characters.
There are over a 1000 events for Sarah and Shannon alone.
For Project Q, I'm aiming to bring that down to 7 time-slots each day.
Early Morning, Late Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Early Evening, Late Evening, Night.
Each character will be present in 1 of the rooms at their present location.
Interacting with a character will give you a choice.
To either simply talk with them or to do something together.
Choices that will gradually expand over time.
Will there be special events like in Sweet Affection?
Yes.
There be unique events that you can trigger around your home.
(Events that will trigger at a certain time of day or during certain circumstances.)
Is there going to be a progression system like in Sweet Affection?
Yes.
The main story will follow the characters in the home location.
You will be able to advance the characters independently from each other but in order to advance the story you will have to advance them all.
The same goes for certain other locations in the world.
Will there be as many side-characters and locations as in Sweet Affection?
Maybe.
I'm going to focus on the main location first. (home).
And the main 4 characters (Ruby, Lucy, Michelle and Ellie.)
Before implementing new characters and locations, I want to see if people enjoy the game and if I enjoy working on it.
If it becomes a success though, my goal is to implement many side characters and locations.
Won't that affect the story?
No, implementing new locations at a later stage will make sense with the story that I am currently making.
(I know that is a big teaser, but I don't want to spoil anything^^)
When can we expect the first release?
I am currently working on the intro part of the game and my goal is to have that finished by the end of this month.
This will be a closed beta test.
In May my plan is to improve on the things that come up in the beta test.
And to finish the foundation when it comes to coding.
And in June, I want to start working on the level 1 content for all the characters.
My goal is to release a 0.1 build with ALL the level 1 content completed for all of them.
I don't want to release a demo with only 5 minutes of game-play, I want to give everyone something substantial. :)
I can not give an exact date of when I'll be done with that, but my goal is somewhere around Fall of this year.
Progress is still relatively slow at this stage but I'm expecting it to pick up as I'm growing more and more comfortable with Honey Select 2.
Will there be mechanics like a Gallery, texts, diary pages?
A gallery will be included from the start.
Diary Pages is a maybe.
I definitely want to implement them at one point, but I'm not sure they will be included in the 0.1 version.
Texts will be replaced with a notification system that will make sense with the story I'm creating. :)
What kind of fetishes/adult themes will be in the game.
You can expect similar things as in Sweet Affection.
Characters will have their own preferences and desires.
Some a little bit more extreme than others.
There will be a bigger focus on lust as I mentioned above.
And characters will act differently on... how much lust they have.
Can you tell us more about the story?
No, I'm not going to spoil anything. :)
In Sweet Affection, the focus is 100% on the characters themself.
However, in PQ I want the focus to be on the story as well.
The characters will be the main focus, of course.
The only thing I will say is that it will not be your ordinary setting. ;)
Will we as supporters have any impact on the game.
Absolutely!
When I reach the stage of introducing new side-characters and locations.
I want to give you guys the choice of who/what you want to see first.
After the initial beta test I might also make a poll regarding making the demo public or only for certain tiers.
Or, a poll regarding implementing certain mechanics like the diary pages and which ones hold the most priority for you. :)
Will the be special tier rewards for the new game?
Yes.
I want to create a special location in the game where you guys can leave your name.
To make you part of it because I wouldn't be able to do it without any of you.
And I want to make monthly wallpapers that you can vote for.
And all the current tier rewards will apply to PQ as well.
So that also means custom images/scenes.
But anything more than that, I'm not too sure about.
If you guys have any good ideas of things you would like to see as a reward or that you are interested in. Let me know. :)
For now, I think I'm going to end the post right here.
There are plenty of other things to talk about but I will leave that for another day.
For now I have to get back to work for the upcoming Sweet Affection Update.
If you are curious about something or think that I missed something.
Please let me know and I'll make sure to answer a.s.a.p
I hope that this post made you guys even more excited about the game.
And I really can't wait to share my new project will all of you.
The more I work on it, the more excited I'm getting.
This weekend, I'll be back with another progress Report for Sweet Affection.

Your actions will have consequences as the world will change/open up around you as you make them. However, those choices will be a part of the story and not "Optional."

I wish there was different consequences on your actions. Like rpg games.
