Progress Report Week 49
🕑 Added 2023-12-10 12:16:07 +0000 UTCAs mentioned last week, this is going to be a very long post. :)
Sweet Affection 0.10.2
My goal was to finish all the work for the upcoming update, today.
And I'm happy to say that I managed to do exactly that.
All the art and writing are finished.
However, we won't be able to code it right away.
Because the schedule of my coder and me being away for the next 10 days, we won't be able to start working on making the full build until the 20th.
I was hoping to give you guys an exact release date, but unfortunately, I won't be able to do that.
It's definitely going to be an early release, and I'm aiming to release the 0.10.2 build for Tier 3+ between 24 and 26 December.
I will make sure to make another post here on Patreon before that time where I can give an exact time as well as include the change-log.
Time Off
Tomorrow, I will go on a short holiday with my wife.
To a small cabin in the woods without computers, phones, or any of that.
Meaning that for the next 10 days... I won't be here. (December 11 - December 20)
Any questions, e-mails, comments, etc...
I won't be able to respond to those until I come back on the 21st.
If it's important and if it can't wait, I would suggest joining our discord for help there.
The 0.10.1 build is scheduled to be released on December 14th, 12:00 (CET).
Once I come back from my holiday, we'll make sure to finish the 0.10.2 build a.s.a.p.
And then between Christmas and New Year's Eve, I'll be taking another week off to spend some more time with my wife.
(But, I'll be here whenever people need me or have questions.)
Starting January 1st, I'll be returning to work full-time on the 0.10.3 update and the ones after that.
Because the February 0.10.4 update is going to be absolutely massive (M&S + Donna&Rose).
I need to make sure I get started on that update as quickly once I finish the 0.10.3 update.
But, more information about that once I return from my holiday.
This also means that there is NOT going to be a progress report, next week. (Week 50)
Nor will there be a sneak peek, this Wednesday.
Thank You
I'd also like to take this time to look back at 2023.
It's been another long year that has flown by so quickly.
Another year in which we got to spend so much time with the characters of Sweet Affection and got to know them a little bit better.
But 2023 has also been the year where I realized once again how truly lucky I am with you guys.
Without you guys, I wouldn't be able to work on this project as much.
And I wouldn't be able to give you guys the amount of content that I've been giving you.
So, I want to thank every single one of you.
Thank you for allowing me to do what I love doing.
Thank you for allowing me to further the journey of the characters in Sweet Affection.
2024
But, in 2023 I also learned something else.
In order to keep growing as a creator page and a creator myself.
I need to release a second project.
For the entirety of 2023, I've been struggling with this thought.
Simply because whatever this second project will be, it can't take time away from the current development of Sweet Affection.
But if I'm only able to work 5 hours a week on a second project, would it even be worth it?
What kind of project would I make?
What kind of art would I use?
Would I even be able to do that?
These questions have been running through my head every single day through 2023.
But, I made a decision and today I want to share that with you guys.
New Project.
I decided that I rather want to say that I tried it than regretting not taking the leap.
So, in Q1 2024, I'll be releasing a demo of my new project.
I already spent some time working on it in the past couple of weeks.
And I'd like to share the first picture with you guys.
Now, this project will be nothing as grand as Sweet Affection.
I'd like to make that very clear from the start.
My goal is to create it as a linear VN.
Because Sweet Affection is my top priority, it will only be worked on when I'm confident I will finish all the planned content for that month.
And if I'm feeling up for it in terms of energy and health.
There won't be monthly updates for it, nor will there be release dates.
It will simply be done when it's done.
I will give everyone more information about the new project in January 2024. :)
But, please let me know what you think about the screenshot and the idea of a smaller second project.
I'd like to make it very clear one more time though, this project won't affect the future of Sweet Affection.
For now, I think it's time to finish this post.
I will be back with a post on December 21.
Until then, stay safe and healthy everyone. :) (and after that, of course.)
