🕑 Added 2025-03-21 17:40:47 +0000 UTCAlrighty!!!! So you guys did NOT disappoint with the suggestions, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!! We got so many wonderful ones I've decided to do two polls, one with some of the most popular suggestions and the other with some random ones!!! 12 movies on each poll, top 3 will be watched from both!!! 2nd poll will go up soon after this is posted, both will be left up for a week. Please don't be discouraged if your movie isn't on the poll or doesn't get selected this time, gonna try to truck through these as quickly as possible so we can do this all over again and as "Artwood Sleep" suggested we'll start having special polls and stuff moving forward where we only have 90s movies or horror movies on the poll, something like that!!! :D

big ups joe for the most eloquently written and MUCH needed comment I have ever seen, good lord !!! šš» thereāll also be a lot of avid fans who know much about the movies/books and given the trek that is this saga, pLEASE voice any questions/confusions you may have throughout (w unfamiliar characters being mentioned etc as joe said) bc fans of Tolkien will JUMP at the chance to explain the deep lore behind anything and everything!! š©·

A loud second to Heatherās gentle suggestion. The (sic) extensions are in the form of short scene expansions throughout the movieāa few minutes here, some seconds there. Cumulatively they add context and robustness that you will appreciate. As a percent of whole the added length isnāt that much. You will be shocked to reach the end āso soonā as the time will pass unbelievably quickly. Justā¦ know your bladder. Assuming you havenāt seen it (which shocks me!!), the LOTR involves traveling through Tolkienās created worldāand a map is really, really useful. The good news is you can access one! Browse to: www.theonering.com and you can access maps of The Shire and of Middle Earth at the end of the third age (when the story takes place). The fictional world has an unbelievably rich and deep back-history, including multiple invented languages (and creatures that speak them). It opens with a tasteājust a tasteāof that background, from the middle of the second age to the end into the third. You will hear a lot of names of great historical importanceābut less narrative importance (thus this comment). Keeping track of the MANY characters is a challenge. In most cases, connect characters with where they are from and with who they are with when you first meet them and then even if you forget them youāll likely remember their group (yes, other reactors watch with a pad & pen at hand). Since you watch solo you donāt have noodnicks watching with you to jog your memory. š
