According to many Shawols, Area was written for Jonghyun and Days and Years was written for Shinee World, the two most important people/beings to Shinee.

Minho wrote most of Area and also composed some of the music. He says we're not to be too sad while listening to it.I love it so much, I can't even. Colde helped Minho write the rap for Days & Years.
