While the screeching call of a majestic bird is often cause for excitement, there are a few that make things a bit more… terrifying. Ruling the skyways, the Drudgework Observers have come to be known as a terrifyingly perfect scout for skyfaring dwarves. Outfitted with the latest in optical tech, some conniving individual saw fit to repurpose that technology for use in a helm. Clever I must say, if a bit daring. One does wonder where they got the parts.
Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

Design notes from Matthew:
Making items to match our creatures is still one of my favorite things to do. I don’t know what it is about that pairing, but it’s so fun to think about the ways that monster mechanics can translate into item mechanics. They’re really not all that different once you get into the weeds so it’s exciting to bring that parity to life. Also, hopefully it makes for a cool encounter with a memorable reward for your players.
For the D&D version, truesight was always the target from the start. I wanted to give this a base that would be always useful, thus the advantage on sight based perception checks and the zoom stylings of a spyglass. That makes it an always useful item as a base, but truesight is extremely powerful. Granting that on the regular is something that you want to do sparingly. Setting a short time limit and making it a once a day ability presents a real opportunity cost to it.
In Pathfinder 2E, senses are a bit more complex and due to that, I had the option to give things a different base. First of all, there is no advantage so giving a straight item bonus to perception checks based on sight was stop one and worked pretty well. The zoom function was pretty easy to translate as well. The complex part was balancing what the activation did. Giving it the power to penetrate containers and improve darkvision seemed the most straightforward and useful. Due to the less powerful nature of the PF2E version, I upped it a bit in duration.
This is our final item of the month and accompanies the Drudgework Observer that will be releasing later today. We also have an exciting collab coming up next month with JamesRPGArt, The Fluffy Folio, and Limithron that we couldn’t be more happy with. We can’t wait to share it with you.
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
