Octo-Zine Thumbs
🕑 Added 2018-08-21 01:06:45 +0000 UTC I can't sleep so I figured I'd upload some thumbnails I did for my octozine piece. Tbh the top row are not even in the race anymore, cause they suck. But I kept them because they are part of the journey. Leaning heavily on the far left on the bottom row. I'm going for a darker tone since Splatoon in general is usually so upbeat. And the expansion was the right amount of darkness that I needed. I am a sucker for things being grown in tubes so I really wanted to draw that. I like the middles composition but it doesn't make sense canonically since this isn't where she wakes up. She wouldn't have any memory of that. The train ride one I'm sensing will be a common idea for the zine so I probably will avoid this one. But honestly I really want to finish all three at some point. Got a favorite?

Aw thanks! I think I'll def give that a shot!! while I feel like I'm finally on to something, it's still not 100% there yet. <3

I love the lower angle of the middle bottom one. :) if you did something with that composition and with the theme of the left one I think it'd work real well. Looking good so far anyway! Xox

Naw it's helpful! I might do a few more to see if I can squeeze any more ideas out before i start on one. But honestly.. I'll choose one to put in the zine but I really wanna finish all three of these!
I LOVE the middle and far right. I definitely see what you're talking about with going with the bottom left. I kinda love the theme of the middle bottom even though it isn't canon. The bottom right is speaking to me on a hopeful level and you could probably work some darkness into it on the fringes? Honestly they all have some good ideas to them. Sorry if I'm not helpful. :/
