Should I start writing the next Healer book?
🕑 Added 2024-10-04 13:27:58 +0000 UTCI've been thinking about this for the last week, so I thought I would get all of my Patrons' opinions.
Back in August, my original publishing schedule had been to finish the 7th Fusionist book near the end of September or early October; the book would then be published at the end of December. Once it was done, I planned to write the 4th Healer book, so that I could publish it near the end of November.
Unfortunately, my bad head cold in early September really put me behind in my writing and I'm still trying to catch up. Based on my projections, it will likely take me about 3 more weeks to finish book 7, which means the Healer book wouldn't be started until near the end of October; long story short, that means it is unlikely that I would be able to finish and publish it this year since I wouldn't want to publish it around the same time as Fusionist 7.
So, what I'm thinking about doing is pausing Fusionist 7 (after I finish the chapters I have planned for today) and starting Healer book 4 next week. I would need to do some planning for it, and I need to finish some stuff for Fusionist (editing and scheduling chapters on RR) so it might be Tuesday or later that the first chapters would go up. But what it would mean is that I would be able to finish it in November, so that I can publish it in early December. Once it is written, I would then finish up the rest of Fusionist so that it is ready to go for the late December release.
Is this something that you would be fine with me doing? What it means is that the 30-chapter Fusionist buffer for my $5 Patrons would shrink dramatically (I was almost caught up to that again), but everyone would have access to the new Healer book.

Honestly, I would love to see the rest of the time core series finished. It was left on a cliffhanger.
